The Voices Echo In Emptiness

With a sigh summer citrine sky turned green
spontaneously into existence.
Autumn's palette adds changes and are seen
to its systematic experience.

Stars shiver in fear on the coldest night.
Voices in the darkness look for refuge;
heaven bound birds gather in distant flight
sailing through winds dusty powdered steel rouge.

The long day is dead; voices won't let me sleep.
Hush. Hush. The voices echo in emptiness.
Whiff of sandalwood lost in shadows deep.
The voices know my loneliness, the nothingness.

Amber encroaches the dawning of morning fight
through window curtains the whitest lace of light.

Roses Roses Roses Potd

In all her glory, dawn has burst forth, With a slight glow of early morning brightness I sit in the bower, listening to birds in concert And admire wonderful, Rosebuds unfold, Revealing a beautiful red rose With a precision wisp of light prancing around them Emitting a velvety feeling, so tempting to touch Long green stems, prickles, Full of scallop trim leaflets all in green, With brown thin veins Around the red velvet leaves, Music playing on cool fresh air Coursing through the whispering leaves Sweet aroma of moist dew and rose perfumes Floating gently on the breeze Gives me an intense curiosity to embrace the rose Just the sight of the red roses Reminds me to breathe

Favorite Artist

Favorite Artist,
A romantic,
A dreamer.
Choice for a favorite artist,
that would be,
Me.

~
I grew up in a family of seven children. As the oldest I found myself entranced and driven. Then, other times in a pensive mood to be alone, in a quiet place, bliss of solitude. I would sneak away and hide in different places. No, sound or faces; leave no traces just my chalks, pencils, and drawing pads drawing traces of faces among them mom and dads. As I grew older, I used my talent to earn a living, every day was a brand-new challenge discovering new things about me. Excited and amazed of my talents, I started teaching reaching for those that had talent, but lacking self-esteem and making their dreams come true. Then again, another phase of my life, I pursued finding myself as a poet, a healing of my soul, a journey to the depths, food for substance that made me whole.
~
Being an artist has let me see and feel into my human self with more meaning and understanding to life. 11/11/2019

A Place of Timeless Harmony - a Tribute To Connie Marcum Wong

She rides on a sailing ship high in the skies
embracing creation of her wandering star
cheerfully greeting her guests.
Some pleasant and chatty,
some on occasion she may ask,
            “Please don’t fall over me.”

Hawaii is where her heart lies;
and island of poetry that inspires her soul,
of orange sunset against sublime radiant blue.

She strolls up and down the tan beach,
enjoying the feel of warm grains of sand between her toes,
breathing in the whole innocence of beauty
as tears of joy blend in with the cool briny sea.

A place of timeless harmony
her peace of heaven

Unconditional Love

Like the sun lights up the sky,
A little girl when she was born,
She snuggled right into our hearts
With heaven's sparkle in
Her eyes stole her papa's heart.

He became her nanny and cradled
Her to sleep, there was no bed
Comfortable enough,
but only in his loving arms
Until it was time for him to leave.

He was "mama" until she was two.
He would try to correct her;
"No, Papa."
She'd say, Mama with a smile.

He nourished her little mind with
Nursery rhymes and songs.
He taught her Math, English, and Spelling.
Taught her to ride her first tricycle,
To hold a baseball bat
And keep her eyes on the ball.
To kick and pass a soccer ball back and forth,
He cheered the loudest when she outran the boys.
Love between both of them unconditional.

She's now thirteen, with a smile that beams like sunshine
And eyes like stardust glistening, our greatest joys;
A garden scent where mums and sunflowers flow.
Having outgrew grandpa, it was grandmas turn;
Grandpa encouraged.

Her extra sunshine, giggles, laughter, and happiness
That come from deep inside when we shop
For party dresses, make-up, and
Once in a while a bookstore.
A photo-shoot on a footbridge or garden,
Lunches at Olive Garden or Gringo's for Mexican food,
And ice cold-fruity slushy drinks before going home.

She would text and still does to say,
You and grandpa or the best grandparents ever.
This little girl that that lights up the sky rules our hearts.

Batter Up

She comes to bat with the score tied three to three.
Staring out at the pitcher,
she goes into her stance,
just hoping the ball will come over the sweet part of the plate.
Into her motion, the pitcher winds and fires.
Gathering all of her strength,
her eyes lock on the fast approaching yellow softball.
Like a gladiator ready to charge, she coils her body ready to strike.
Swinging with all her might, she connects
and the crowd goes wild as the ball sails
over the center fielder's head and to the fence.
With the crowd cheering,
she takes off like a young cheetah toward first.
A smile on her face and a gleam in her eye,
she looks up and catches the coaches signal to go to second.
Seeing the ball is still in the outfield
and the third base coach waving her on,
she rounds second and heads for third.
Fans fired up cheering,
mom and dad hold their breath and pray
as she rounds third for home.
Looking up and seeing a good relay throw to the catcher,
she throws on her brakes and reverses to third.
A bullet throw from catcher to third base
has her in a rundown.
Like a ping pong ball, they have her running back and forth,
but she’s not worried with her speed.
Then it happens,
the third baseman overthrows the catcher
and she is off for home.
Heart pounding and breathing hard,
knowing it will be close,
she dives feet first and slides into home base
under the tag to make a home run.
The crowd is roaring in the stands,
jumping up and down, hollering and clapping their hands.
Her team mates run out of the dugout and mob her with joy.
She’s made the winning run to break the tie.

Forever In Your Eyes

Fervent wish within your eyes speaking with realistic
Optimism, visible for hope for the future
Reflecting exquisite dream-fullness of mystic nights in your eyes
Ethereal, you are in this perfect world of ours
Volcanic and miraculous things happen with a touch of
Euphoria as we feast with whirling ecstasy in our souls that fights for ever
Refreshing, in such a delicate way that it seems too perfect

I imagine your eyes speaking to me as we venture through
Newfound impulsive existence welcoming universe

Your questions always answered, like the waves coming in from the
Ocean, as we sit embracing on each other’s warmth, watching time pass
Under a roof of celestial stars, until each dawn waxes and wanes
Rapidly breathing deep into the golden sand of our sandcastle

Envisioning our life together, willingly, and joyfully blooming spirit
Youth in a blink, as high in the branches rendering to fields of beauty
Extending to the golden illuminating rays of sunlight
Safe, spacious, life binding with God’s sight

Abandon

Abandon through the flowing blue ice streams,
then rise to thirsty trees and fields of dreams.

Abandon in the beige fields of Indian red autumn,
skeletal keepers lean from the fragrant ledge then forgotten.

Abandon through the weaving champagne sunbeams,
stairway to nirvana, most transient gleams.

Abandon in golden salamander orange, that hath,
set archway of pendulous amber stipule path.

Abandon in the summer sky blue waterfall,
frond through the echoes, grayish fog call.

Abandon in lichen depth and pinnacle spears,
bent and rooted in the brown, in deaf ears.

Abandon in liquescent hands, in its melancholy vale, slowly unfurl,
meeting once more in a dying golden pearl.

Reaching for the stars, yet the soul hath life diviner.
Let it sooth my bleak sorrow and my ashen sin, a love finer.
