Your Debt Is Paid In Full

I got a phone call the other day,
But little to my surprise,
A bill collector was calling.
And I began to realize.

“Hello, ma’am. I have a message for you.”
The bill collector did say.
“You’re late on your payment, send us this sum,
And send it to us today.”

I hung up the phone while he was still talking,
And walked away downhearted as all.
I promised myself, the next time the phone rang,
That I would not answer their call.

A few minutes later, I began to cry
Remembering all the wrong things I’ve done.
Accusing memories of sins I’d repented of
And the very things I’ve been trying to shun.

Satan was dunning me for sins in my past,
Just like the bill collectors do.
Still wanting me to pay, with guilt to spare,
When I know I’ve already prayed through.

So I started praying just once again,
Like I was beating an old dead horse.
Confessing my sins and problems to God,
And with tears, was shedding remorse.

When I was finished praying, I heard a small voice
Saying, “Condemnation can be cruel.
Don’t worry, child, your account balance is zero,
And your debt has been paid in full.”

That Bullet Was For You

While walking through a hospital one day, a veteran I did see
He was in a wheelchair with both legs missing, and he did it for you and me.

I turned around a corner and down another hall
Only for my eyes to behold a family who has lost it all

A five year old cried out,"Why did daddy have to die?"
The mother held her son closer while she greived and began to cry

The mother of that young Marine, who had fought over in Iraqu
Wandered why her son so brave, didn't survive the enemie's attack

The father of that soldier, hung his head to cry
He was a retired soldier himself, why couldn't he have been the one to die?

His heart broken sister, sits in shock and tries to deny
The death of her older brother, he was killed and don't know why

A few days later, a family, everybody all dressed in black
Went to the funeral of a twenty-five year old who too our bullet in Iraq

The Bible says "thou shalt not kill." and "Love your neighbor" too
Maybe our soldiers aren't doing what's right, but they still take your bullet for you

They sleep in foxholes, and eat in trenches, and do all that they know to do
They rest in the sand with no comforts of home and they take your bullet for you

The restless nights turn into days, you wouldn't believe all they go through
THe rest of us sit at home and gripe, and still they take your bullet for you

The next time you hear a 21 gun salute, don't condemn as others do
The next time the taps are being played, remember, they took that bullet for you.

Thanks, Veterans for your sacrifice.

A Disease

Depression is a disease
A disease just like cancer
Some people underestimate it
“Snap out of it” is not an answer.

I may not have any open sores
Or lumps that you can see
They are all on the inside
And the pain won’t let me be

I have tons of scars
That covers my wrist
I lie awake at night and pray
That by death I may be kissed

It’s a real pain inside
People don’t understand
They are not willing to give
The love I demand

On the outside I look healthy
On the inside I know I’m not
The pain gets worse everyday
Even worse that I could have thought

I withdraw myself and put myself
In a place where I can’t be seen
All because life can be so
So extremely mean

If I go missing, then please don’t bother
Don’t worry your little head
Because the next time you find me
I may as well be dead

Sometimes

Sometimes a hug is needed
To dry up someone’s tears
Sometimes a hug is needed
To calm a person’s fears

Sometimes a calming touch is needed
From a friend or stranger too
Sometimes the hardest words to hear
Are the ones “I love you”

Sometimes your path gets dark and drear
And your days pass by in no hurry
Nobody is around to comfort you
All is left to do is worry

The best of days can be forgotten
When the tears come falling down
All you can think of is grief of the past
All that will fit is a frown…

Will some one please just give me a hug
And tell me they love me so?
This is one time that sometime is needed
Just hug me and let your love show!?

Thank You

Thank you for being such a good friend.
Thanks for letting your love show.
Thank you for giving me hope for the morrow,
And in Christ may our friendship grow.

I appreciate the way your loving arms
Wrap ‘round me to hug me tight.
I love the way that your beautiful smile
Sheds into my soul God’s light.

Sometimes through the week, when I get down
When the darkest night’s about me.
I look forward to Sunday when
My best friend I get to see.

Thanks once again for being my friend,
And I really hope you know.
We’ll stick together until the end
And in Christ, our friendship will grow.

What If God Had a Cell Phone

If God had a cell phone, what would his number be,
And I wander what ring tone it would play?
What carrier would He go with, or would He create His own
To be available both night and day?

Would family talk be an option?
If it would, I want one of those phones…
No contracts to sign, He’s signed it already,
And He’s ready to help our unknowns.

Imagine being able to talk all day,
Without having even one dropped call.
His reception’s great, wherever you are
Even when you trip and fall.

With no dead areas and no bill to pay,
How much better could this carrier get?
I’m sure glad I’m connected to this carrier.
He’s never let me down, not yet.

God doesn’t have a cell phone exactly,
And there is no ring tone to play.
Family talk is still an option,
For we talk to Him when we pray!

If

If children are a blessing from God
Then why hasn’t He blessed me?
Could it be that I’ve written about His love
So unworthily?

I’ve seen young mothers, just teens they are
Brag about their abortion date
I saved myself for marriage
Am I the object of God’s hate?

Why is life, I’m asking now,
Why is it so unfair
He’ll give a child to everyone else
To all those who don’t even care

I don’t do drugs, or drink, or smoke
But I’m infertile anyway
I have served God for all of my life
Then me he decides to betray

Just one little baby, is it too much to ask
Is it too much for god to let be?
After I get to carry one full term
I promise to have a hysterectomy.

Softer Toilet Paper

In this bathroom of Dr. Heath's,
The tissues so tough you grit your teeth.

No soft toilet paper anywhere to be found,
By the time you get through, how does Charmin sound?

You wipe with sandpaper til you bleed,
Soft toilet paper your bottom will need.

In this kit, relief you will find
From toilet that is much more kind!

Carry the Torch

Carry the torch and carry it high
Their legacy will never die
Continue on, their hopes fulfill
The one the enemy tried to kill

Carry the torch that they’ve passed on
Now their battle has been won
Live in freedom in the USA
Live in it’s fullest everyday

These soldiers did not die in vain
For nothing didn’t they suffer the pain
You may never join the Navy, or the Army or Guard
But it’s for your freedom that our veterans fought hard

Though some may have died while the torch being carried
Their flame burned out, in a graveyard now buried
Let’s carry on their torch and this we must do
The next time you see a veteran, let’s tell them “Thank You.”
