Teach Them Young

Teach them the songs of the land.
Teach them the rhythm of life.
Teach them the strength of the past,
That they may appreciate the beauty of the future.
Children of today, nations of tomorrow.
They have the right to know and believe in the unity of life.
Teach them to know that all men and women are not just nor truthful.

Let them know that for every mean and selfish people, there are honest, generous and dedicated ones.
Teach them the power of the spirit of sportsmanship, to enjoy winning and as well accept losing when it comes.
Teach them that a dime earned is to be valued far more than a thousand stolen.
Teach them to rejoice in each others successes rather than envy. Teach them to have faith in God and to believe in themselves.
Remind them never to forget that they are masterpieces of the Creator, and none can replace the other.
Please, don’t forget to teach them that it is more honorable to fail than to cheat, and there is no shame in tears.

Teach them the difference between the real world and the world in the pages of magazines, movie screens and television.
Teach them the enduring powers of patience and kindness.
Teach them the endless powers of love and forgiveness.
Expose them to verities of colors of life and remind them to look beyond
skin colors to appreciate the blood of life.
Teach them the importance of a smile in the dark tunnels of life.
Teach them to be simple and truthful to themselves and to keep there distance from drugs.

Teach them to be respectful of life and elders that they may be respected.
Teach them our mother’s songs; tell them where we are, where we have been, where we are going and they will lead the way.

Sweet Mom

It began with a kiss of love
graduated to nine months of
mixed feelings which ended
in hours of horrible pains and
regrets.
In the sight of your babe came a
sincere smile of success.
You didn't know how strong you
were Mom.

No shock absorber could have been better.
You stayed strong like a giant Iroko tree
in the midst of turbulent winds of life
You are my hero mama.
You patiently carried on the tedious
job of nursing regardless of burdens
and pains,
Denied yourself comfort to make me happy.
Your baby I will always be.

Mummy you are sweet, tender
and loving.
You are indeed a blissful bridge to the paradise
I know.
Sweet Mom.

Dance Your Way Out

It is daunting and challenging to wear smile no matter how thin in
face of depression.
Like a lose balloon in the face of rushing hurricane wind, you feel
helpless and hopeless at the grip of monster claws of deep dark.
Your smartness, beauty and pride buried in dust of sorrow and
solitude; gloomy and cloudy moments nest and rent the air, courage
and self worth hijacked by entrapment wind of darkness.

You have come a long way not to remember the gift of joy and great
source of happiness you have been to all in need.
Search deep within your heart to see many challenges and battles
you have won to get here.
You have not been a coward nor back down on any challenge; you
have been very deceive and courageous.
Like a child in a candy shop, you have been very happy and grateful
for little things of life.

It may be hard to remember every length, width and depth of the past;
but a flash back will throw some light in dark depressing valleys of life.
Take a deep breathe, let it out, deep breathe again and again.
Rejoice for ability to inhale and appreciate air at will without struggle.
Share your pretty smile for others to find strength to face their
challenges.
Take a long deep breathe, listen to songs of silence and melodious
music of moments for rejuvenation

let go of your self, rock your feet and swing and hands front and back
to sweet songs of nights for joy of new day and fresh beginning.
Visualize yourself in arms of love on a dance floor without care and
stress but music of love and excitement in the air.
Like molten lava of volcano let loose joy within you to drown darkness
and depression.
Never forget that you are built to overcome

Ballroom Delights

Ballroom Delights

Bright and colorful like a rainbow in blue sky,
spacious space for special souls and selected
sounds and songs of summer nights.
Glorious room packed with excitement
and sizzling souls eager to ride the wave of
dance music in heart of the night.
Expected and planned nights of dates
and lovers in their best dresses and behaviors.
Moment and time of ballroom dancers parade
themselves with pride and style like African
ostrich in heat.

We visualize and socialize with acquaintances
and friends to feed the night.
We sip fine wine, best champagnes and
finest liquor with smile and best of laughs in
celebration of life.
Life changes quality and colors depending on
company we keep.
You are my dream delight and I want to say it
loud and clear.

You are the star of the night and the prettiest
girl and the envy of all.
Like a shining star, you high light the king in me.
Whenever you stepped on dance floor, smiles
of admirers changes the colors of the room.
Your unique and captivating dancing steps have
always been to die for.
Your graceful and angelic moves and steps to
the tantalizing rhythm and melodies of the night
is an unforgettable delight

here comes my ballroom delight

Sorrows of Eve

I was once called a shining sun
held and caressed like a queen
in hands of a love prince.
Told how pretty I am, and how
everything makes no sense without
me,
how good I was in the weird world of ego
I was once your sunshine in winter
admired and cherished like blue and red
roses in arms of a new found love.
I listened to your songs of love that
have vanished into the horizon
I am lost once again in the restless
world of solitude.

You were once grateful to God for
knowing me,
Cried and screamed like a bruised babe
on my graceful body.
Neither did I know that what we shared
was nothing but illusion.
Once again I am blown below the belt
in my dance to keep my love.
Why give it to me when it is not
mine to keep.
Can I ever kiss the life of hurt and
loneliness goodbye for good?
