Jane Iii Poem
New Orleans thieved my heart at the start of spring,
my stomach dropped along the bayou
across to Mobile on train.
She stopped long enough to sing
in keeping with the rain.
Atlanta's pink sky roaring,
sore throats to spotted ring,
caught a cold thru Chattanooga
winding north then west thru mountain bends.
To Tennessee, the accident,
where money grew on trees.
Stashed my pack behind a bush
til night passed by in a rush.
Waited for the sun to rise,
high above Tallahassee plains,
to warm the fire ants and cement
to return south on blacktop highway.

Jane Iii Poem
Goodnight, my whistle whispers
muffled by squeals and clanks,
the freights' heavy weight cradles the breath I take.
Exhales through chilled wind churn coldness steel,
solidifies my being real,
through every jolt shakes every bolt, a thrash, clash, pulsing bit,
steal me up a comfort ladder, with dirt upon its' grip.
As southern evening falls, does burning spark of metal wheels in the dark,
miles before the port breaks clear
before I hop off to see you near.

Jane Iii Poem
clouds soon come to pass
through shapeless, magnificant laps
which curl around the Harvest moon
black masses hang suspended doom
while constellations peak way
soaking amongst the dim and gray
fluorescent canopys they lay
prepping infinity for the coming day
as fog climbs up silhouetted crop
and slithers down the mountains' top
still darkened by the moons' surrender
to the charging sun, reclaiming it from under
