Parody of Andrew Marvel's Poem To His Coy Mistress

Parody of Andrew Marvell's "to his coy mistress"
We have no time to waste
Dear in Love let's make haste
I haven't time to praise your locks
For my boss at my back stalks
And for sheer platonic relation
Internet erotic sites I can't shun
And I have dates waiting in queue
If you dither
I will select any in lieu of you
My glabruous love should grow
like your painfully maintained eyebrow
And yonder before us lie
A chimney-tarnished sky
Before air pollution retards our respiration
Let our breath mingle each other in unison

Homage To Gandhi

I wonder how a titan
rose from the country
of dwarfs.
Recalling him now seems
Like talking about dinosaur
where with no living forms of
that magnitude in vogue
We get the idea of enormity
from fossils:

His relentless insistence on truth,
No gulf between
preaching and practice,
Ceaseless struggle for swaraj,
Humble ideal of trusteeship,
Heroic crusade against injustice
and discrimination,
Calm campaign agaist untouchability,
All this intrvowen with fine fabric
of life like a piece of home-spun
Khadi challenges credulity.

Newspapers

They are on the verge of extinction
Now in reading them there is no fun
Electronic media rendered them redundant
Yellow journalism made them defunct
Like a beggar they hanker after ad
Their glamour of late has begun to fade
Editors now grope for thrilling news
And fill-up columns with their own views
Letters to the editor lack vigour
There is dearth of good articles
For contributors are meagre
There are no incentives for columnists
So they have begun to opt for tv superhits
Print media is virtually on oxygen
Even by its erstwhile fans it has been shun
Its news are dull and stale
And it survives solely on blackmail

Hiv Aids 2007

Anorexia, weight loss, fever

Frail frame of weakness shiver

With collapse of castle of immunity

Opportunistic infections eager

TO prey on the victim

Whose eyes in deep socket gleam

Kaposis Sarcoma, trauma, coma

Human Immuno Virus' melodrama

Call it the battle in the bloodstream

Plethora of symptoms ranging from

Candidiasis to Herpes simplex

Which render the phenomenon complex

Elisa Western blot and CD4 Count

Diagnosis extorts substantial amount

AIDS Patients deserve top priority in

medicare for their suffering and agony are rarest rare

Posterity will not forgive us

If in handling AIDS we sound frivolous

Tribute To Mother Teresa

shroud of haze engulfs
the earth as the news of thy death arrives,
And the slums of Calcutta,
from where you lifted the forsaken for care,
look dispossessed.

In thy death the world has
lost an apostle of compassion
who transcended the barriers of
caste and creed in disseminating love

A universal mother thou art,
whose healing touch mattered
much more than even Medicare,
for medicine heals the wounds of body,
but who shall heal the wounds of heart and soul
without thee, O Mother?

While at the kingdom of Heaven a choir of angels
eagerly awaits the return of the humble daughter.
The humans, still aghast and bereaved,
weep over the irrevocable loss.

Sigmond Freud

Even a mention of his name is inspiring
The father of the theory of psychoanalysis
And the inventor
of id-ego-superego hypothesis
His profound thinking was instrumental
In shaping movements in art & literature,
Surrealism is solely based on Freudian
concept
Oedipus-complex still is a hot theme
For novelists and men of letters
The first man to dissect dreams
in Interpretations of dreams
and dissociate them from the haze of mythology
Without him we would not have understood
the basis of psychological ailments
For his theory of subconscious
paved way for curing many functional
disorders...

On World Enviornment Day, 5 Th June

It's a day for taking a pledge
That we wo'nt litter earth with garbage
It's a day to introspect
About grim fact of greenhouse effect
An occasion of contrition for ozone erosion
A time for nonbiodegradable material to shun
And an event to declare on oath
That instead of incurring Nature's wrath
We'll opt for sustainable induswtrial growth
In post AIDS scenario
It's an occasion to explicitly state
The importance of disposal of medical waste
It's a time to warn eco-hostile industries,
who,by emitting toxic gases
From atmosphere oxygen slashes
Above all it's a carnival for planting trees
For suffusing with oxygen the morning breeze

Quack's Progress

Arriving from unknown somewhere
He set up clinic in the market square
Declared he could cure any disease
Using herbal drugs of plants and trees
Townsfolk being credulous
Soon to his shop began to rush
Diabetics, rheumatics, asthmatics flooded
None over his degree brooded
A few weeks later, afloat was this rumor
He cures for he rightly detects the humor
Realizing that every client is a prospective fan
He talked in technical terms even with laymen
He would expose his victims to numerous medical terms
Also trade-names, contents, firms, diseases and germs
Just to exhibit erudition and sound philosophy
Without occasion he embarked on learned topics
Often dwelt on sedatives and epilepsy
Or discoursed at length on tumor and biopsy
Then in a torrent of rodomontade would relate
Histories of cases cured with specific names and date
Discourses full of references to Ayurvedic treatises
Madhav, Charak, Susrut and other varieties
To prove his point he recited aloud original excerpts
As a result ,he soon won the epithet: "expert of experts"
"Discourteous ingrates! They even do not thank
Though I give 'em new life" exclaimed the mountebank.
Always eager to spar against allopathy
At the slightest provocation he would lecture on allopathic hazards
Or would lament on untidy hospitals and unhygienic wards
Boldly averring: "To hide anything from patients is a deadly sin"
Within no time he became a celebrity
His tricks worked and brought him publicity
After a year DHO came to see him in person
And sought his counsel for his sick son
A minister's car at his doorstep halted
Just to enhance libido and weakness treated
He gave the minister powerful mercury dust
Which triggered his vigor and inflamed his lust
Then to CM's ears reached his fragrant fame
Who called him secretly telling him not to declare name
MPs in turn heard of this rare phenomenon
And turned up to consult him one by one
Director drug control came to seek his advice
For chronic dysentery and perennial bronchitis
At length PM had to send him his compliments
For service to nation and" particular "patients
The whole world acknowledged him as master of his craft
But a person knew his truth in his own staff
His compounder knew his master was a fake
But he swallowed the secret for heaven's sake

Cynecdoche the Figures of Speech

Cynecdoche The figures of speech
The Village rose at midnight
And each house wore delight
The festive mood squated on roofs
In hectic rhythm moved the hoofs
Horse race was followed by buffalo contest
Then human legs were put to test
The fairsex put on maiden attire
And the ageing lot sat near fire
The green calves cracked fireworks
while blind birds sat on treeperks
The daybreak was still very far
when in distant sky I saw a pulsar

Nuclear Non-Proliferation

To talk about non proliferation is latest fashion
In which indulges each nation
Treaties talk tall on this issue
But the offenders they cannot sue
Commissioners of this forum before BBC
With a bland wooden face speak like sissy
They are offered Nobel peace prize for
non-performance
Though they have not interrogated offenders even once
The drama of hypocrisy goes on and on
And nobody the demise of peace moans
The world is literally on the threshold of nuclear
holocaust
And yet UNO about non-proliferation boast
Plutonium and uranium can fall in the hands of
terrorists
Who are on USA'S most wanted lists
The saddest thing about NP is double standard
Because nobody keeps here his word
The nations who most vehemently NP dictates
Are themselves nuclear states!
Can’t we put nuclear energy to peaceful purpose
Instead of making it a universal curse
