Confused

There’s this certain connection we have
It’s there when I feel you’re near
But it lasts only for a while
Then it flickers and slowly dies
Like a rose hurt by my own thorns
Bleeding yet enduring for the beauty it owns
A voice so soothing it puts me in a trance
A song so teasing it gets me to dance
Like a cloud so careless and free
I’m lulled by promises I don’t see
I hear but I cannot feel
I doubt what is and what’s not real
Blind and groping in the dark
Scared but moving forward
Uncertain, afraid, unbelieving
Not knowing how else to act
Journeying through a path that is unknown
Searching for reasons, asking endless questions
I’m confused, running around a complex maze
Tossing and turning, thinking about the mess I made
No way out, baffled by all these
No clue if I’d ever find peace
