Just Tell Her

"JUST TELL HER"

Have you ever wondered when and if you'd find that one?
That special person to come along and fill your life with love.
How many prayers have you sat and prayed that this would be the day
Your search would end, she would come to you, and you'd know just what to say?

Have you ever found that certain one,and let her walk on by
Instead of taking her in your arms and holding her by your side?
How many times was she right there, and you never even knew
That if you'd said those little things, she'd say the same things too?

Have you ever done like me, and know she's your best friend
And wait too long, or be too scared, and lose her in the end?
How many days will go by now without her here with me?
That special girl,my only one, that had waited so patiently.

Have you ever opened up your heart to the things she had to say?
That she was there, waiting for you, and felt the very same way.
How many years now will she hurt, thinking that I don't care;
Because her love was obvious, but mine I couldn't share?

Have you ever thought about times you've spent with her,
And the way she made you smile with just a simple word?
How many moments will you yet share before she knows the truth?
Instead of letting her get away, just tell her "I love you."

The Other Side

I've known lots of anger
And drank whiskey with grief
Though I lived close to danger
I always refused to believe
That hatred was my best friend
That's why I was so blind
The truth they'd always bend
About the other side

Heartache introduced herself
And with her sorrow came
They made my life a living hell
In every imaginable way
But I didn't know it then
Because that was everyday life
The truth rode past on the wind
And with it the other side

Every so often I heard people talking
About happiness, joy, and love
I laughed at them and kept on walking
Never knowing what it was
I never asked them questions
Because I thought it was a lie
That's just another reason
I missed the other side

Then one day I met you
Together we smiled and laughed
To me it was so new
And I wanted it to last
It took about a year
To chip away my pride
And let you bring me here
To the other side

Now I live my life
With love and happiness
And I realize
All I needed was a friend
Sitting with you here
I can tell you what it's like
To brush away the tears
And know the other side

Lovin' and Losin'

Lovin' and losin' that's the game of life
It's the only way you know you're alive
The joy you share and the pain that you feel
Let you know that each new day is real
Sometimes you're in love and nothing seems to be wrong
But you still end up singing that sad old song
You could say I love you to the one that you're with
And recieve in return only a good-bye kiss
Or maybe you tell them what you hold in your heart
And they use it somehow to tear you apart
These things and more will hit you real hard
Just get back up and play your next card
That's lovin' and losin' it's the game of life
You'll play it every day 'til the day you die
