Re-United

Back in the day, we used to play
And we held eachother's hands
We were warm together, and better together
But all things good have ends

He had another he failed to tell
And I spiraled and spiraled and my heart, it fell
I could never look at him at the same
And my heart shouted when he now whispered my name

Should I be bitter? Should I be pleased?
Should my broken heart feel a wave of ease?
I didn't know how to feel about him...till today
Him and I: re-united again

He smiled at me -eyes sparkling and such
And his palm felt warm like sun to the touch
He waved goodbye as I gave a sigh
And turned my back on the love of my life

Happiness!

You saw him today
The first time in weeks
And you couldn't stop giggling, and your knees got weak
When you talk to a friend that you haven't for a while
And you still see the friendship in their familiar smile
When you get back a test you were nervous for
Only to find that you got a high score
When you wake up to your favorite song on the radio
And when you walk down the hall and everybody knows
When you have chocolate chip cookies and lemonade for lunch
When you're cheeks are pink and you just have this hunch
When you look in the mirror and are happy to find
That zit that was coming decided to hide
When you go all day without a trip or a stumble
And your stance and your posture "gives off" that you're humble
When you notice everyone smiles at the site of you
And your hair flips just right when you want it to
When you're eyes are sparkling, gleaming and bright
And you realize in the middle of the night
That this feeling you've had for days and for weeks
It's completely amazing....you're truly happy!
