The Last Straw

THE LAST STRAW

Whilst they shrunk all in fear, It was I who stood without a care.
Scared only of what I might say and wondering why the hell I came to work today.
I want to let you know I'm genuinely pissed but my professionalism won't allow me to do this.
Just who the hell do you think you are, you egotistical monster!!
I don't owe you one dam thing, you're just a poppet!! look at me,... see,... no strings.
I don't live by someone elses rules, you sold out for money you're such ah fool.

And now that we're on seperate sides its my back you try to ride.
Hold on tight! Take the reigns! because this free spirit, you can not tame.
You're clearly not used to defeat so today my friend you're in for a treat.
I can't, I won't, I don't give a dam! all this I follow with Sir or Ma'am.
My intention you see is not to be rude but I sure as hell am not taking any sh#t from you!

Hips Don'T Lie

HIPS DON"T LIE

I love the curves beneath my waist,
the way they sway slowly or quickly
when I'm in a haste.

I love the way they look in jeans, a silhouette
fit for only a queen. My God you're an artist
we all know but I sometimes wonder were
they meant to be large so.

Did I spoil your art with too much taste
and steal a masterpiece from it's place.
Of this I can never be sure but I promise
as long as I live, I'll try to do more.

Love,
Your Candi.

Never Alone

Overwhelmed by emotion I squeeze in a tear
Engulfed, consumed and drowning in fear.
I close my eyes and kneel to the floor and
just then I say to myself " stop you're not alone anymore".
Just what are you doing, you silly cow?
Don't you dare ask him when, where or how.
He knows who you are and just what you need,
doubt? oh no, don't ever plant that seed.
Let go of the reigns and watch the clouds go by
and sure sometimes it helps to cry but
know this soon all tears will cease replaced but faith and belief
just when you think you can take no more, guess what you've
passed the test and he opens the door.

Thankyou father!

People Are People

Why would you hurt someone's son?
                                        Can't you fathom having one?

Though you've probably never been a mother
I'm sure you could be someone's brother.

And what about the girl you hurt because you liked her little skirt
What did she ever do to you, why do you stammer, is it not true?

Yes our skin may not be the same,
but why should that make me the one to blame?.

Our beliefs may be like night and day,
but to a God do we not both pray?

Please think of me as you do yourself,
I'm not something placed upon a shelf.
I'm a person just like you who breaths and eats and feels too.

I Forgive

I forgive because I want to live.
I forgive because I want to give.
I forgive because life is too brief
to wallow every day in grief.
I forgive so that I can love all the
things you say and do that make me
wonder if I can once more,
forgive you.

My God

My life Is because of thee,
My strength emanates from thee,
My house I've built upon thee,
I am nothing without thee,
I am so happy to know thee.

Be Still

BE STILL

My lips pursed, too much to say.
Emotions rise to mind like hot molten lava in a sealed volcano.
I implode and struggle to keep the walls of a raging inferno
from crumbling, from grumbling, from tumbling into the depths of a sea of irrevocable words.
The wise man keeps a still tongue?

What You Have Lost

What You Have Lost.

I have been through much that others may have not.
Each and every experience has enlarged my fractured heart.

I know how the unwanted feels so prepare to be loved alot.
As for being accepted keep in mind here,
you will always have a spot.

Worry not about your transgressions I've had many of those too. With open arms when it seems no one else does,
I will accept you.

But on the day that you decide these qualities
are of the frail well then my friend what you've done is killed your nightingale.

There will come a day when you will meet
others like yourself and be lured into believing when infact, they care for no one else.

That is when you will see what you lost when
you lost me.

The Painful Truth

Wait, did you think what you said didn't hurt me because on the next day I spoke to you ever so sweetly? Wasn't it you who called me needy when with arms outstretched I embraced thee? Do you think you are somehow better than me, because you love conditionally? I know the truth which spewed from me was stifling to you. Ebbing, creeping crawling down a mountain of untruths . Exposing all you fought so hard to burry deep inside. So determined were you not to let anything get by. Cling if you must, engulfed in distrust as that is all you know. But the painful truth is sure and absolute and is always waiting at your door.
