God and the Gangster

Guardian Angel mighty and bright be by my side this day. I go to a fight, that’s probably right but in victory there is little to gain. These plans you have made, the pathway is paved with the bones of the unfortunate slain. Some battles are won but in war there’s no fun it's pleasure is only pain. My God and Savior mighty and bright guides me along this day. I need no gun, the fight I have won by simply walking away. Jonathan D. Kirk

Spirit Rain

Out of the night surrounding you There fall’s a rain that’s hard to view Relaxing focus, you will find A light mist, comes to mind Fragments of light, all around God’s Holy Spirit, falling down Moving quickly looks like snow Where it’s going, I don’t know His Spirit, close to me Kneels and prays, I can see Angels turning, standing guard Battle tested, fighting hard Other spirits, passing by Some bow, to say hi Other’s kneel, on bended knee Quickly rise, before they flee He remains, beside me here The Spirit of God, always near Sitting with me, in this place My Holy Spirit, full of grace One divine, promise to know In all the places, you may go And any land you travel new There fall’s a rain that’s hard to view Jonathan D. Bedtime Assurance

Angels surround me as I sleep A gift from God I can always keep Four are turning around my bed Another hovers above my head Standing guard inside my room They save my soul from certain doom Keeping me secure at night, Constantly ready for a fight Watching for what I can’t see, Angels are always protecting me Jonathan D. kirk
