Young Flower Bud

Alone in the cold a young bud will wait,
to finally bloom before its too late,
hoping that others around him will grow,
to accompany him while he learns what they know.

When it is finally warm enough for his petals to open,
he will reach towards the sun because he has been chosen,
to grow with all of his energy and might,
and make the earth much more colorful and bright.

Once he has stayed as much as he can,
he will hide from the world just like the plan,
to be cozy and warm while the cold moves in,
and keep the beauty he needs when he comes back again.

Newborn Baby

You can feel the love overwhelm the air,
there's magic floating everywhere,
people stand watching with wide eyes,
the newborn baby as it cries.

A beautiful and perfect baby child,
everything that's happened has been so wild,
but waiting for this baby's birth,
makes the long nine months of so much worth.

A little bundle with eyes so bright,
for the very first time these eyes see light,
with clean pink skin, small hands and feet,
they wrap the blanket so tight and neat.

Family and friends all come to be,
with the baby they waited so long to see,
with smiles and laughs from everyone,
for this newborn baby that makes life more fun!

Heart and Brain of Me

I the lock and you the key,
to unlock the heart and brain of me.
Open the thoughts and ideas of my mind,
Look into my heart to see what you find.

What do I see each day through my eyes,
what feelings do I hide with all my lies?
What things around me do I choose to hear,
What in me is my greatest fear?

How do you know what I feel for you,
I show myself to very few.
Hiding things is my art,
keeping closed my brain and heart.

Find my heart and unlock my brain,
all you have to do is get past my pain.
It may be hard to receive my love,
but when you reach me, we'll be in the stars above.

Up At the Sky

Looking and searching up at the sky,
to find all the things flying so high,
to see the sun's rays shining so bright,
to see the moons face light up the night.

Watching the clouds that float and sail,
watching the stars twinkle never fail,
seeing the wind blow gently each day,
seeing the rain pour and rush every which way.

The tops of trees growing so tall,
the leaves from its branches always to fall,
the oxygen we need is found in this air,
in the sky it is held to breathe everywhere.

Flying and soaring, airplanes and birds,
to describe the sky needs so many words,
but finding the things flying so high,
means looking and searching up at the sky.

It's All For You

I'm throwing punches and giving kicks,
performing all kinds of crazy tricks,
I'm dodging bullets, dodging blades,
throwing bombs and grenades,
Swords and knives chasing me down,
guns and canons shooting from all around,
Breaking down doors and climbing through windows,
people coming at me with spears and arrows.

I'm running away to escape with my life,
I'm wanted everywhere because of my strife.
I'm traveling around the world with no maps to go by,
I promise not to cry and refuse to die.
When I make it to you finally,
together we will always be.
Because all these things I'm going through,
I hope you know, it's all for you.

Through rain, hail, sleet and snow,
past an earthquake, hurricane, and tornado,
thunderstorms with lightning and thunder,
I feel like getting to you is making me go under,
digging tunnels through the ground,
flying in the clouds, or past stars all around,
going by the sea or by the land,
walking over rocks or on the sand.

Crossing oceans and climbing mountain tops,
the danger hardly ever stops.
There's so much time I have each day,
I'm thinking of you always and for us I pray.
I've been by myself, been all alone,
I'm learning so much, and doing it on my own.
And all these things I'm going through,
I hope you know, it's all for you.

Someone

I've been hurt so many times before,
but still my heart always longs for more,
of someone who will be with me,
and knows being together is meant to be.

Someone there when I'm in need,
of something that can help me lead,
the struggles that I face in life,
and get me through all of this strife.

Someone who will give me a hand,
when it feels like it's the very last strand,
the one who loves me for me,
and loves me unconditionally.

Someone who can keep my thoughts at bay,
knows how to show me the right way,
has the best of me in mind,
and at the end of the day can help me unwind.

Someone there to dry my tears,
help me conquer all my fears,
able to keep my frustrations low,
when I feel like I'm about to blow.

Someone who can always be there,
no matter what time and no matter where,
who accepts all of the things I do,
and can truthfully say I love you.

I know there is someone out there for me,
Hopefully waiting for us to be,
with each other finally,
I the lock and they the key.

Wars

All around the Earth,
this world of so much worth,
people are fighting everywhere,
no one thinks that things are fair.

No matter where you go,
way up high or down below,
people talk the rage of war,
but do they know what they're fighting for?

If someone wants the right to live,
freedom is something that you should give,
but fighting for power and meaningless land,
is something that war does not demand.

The talk of peace is only sometimes heard,
most people start with war as their word,
they do not think of hurt or pain,
only the things that they may gain.

Their only goal is to win it all,
to lose means their army will fall,
if the goal they have will not achieve,
from the war they fought they have to leave.

And all through time the world repeats,
to fight each and every war it meets,
not many learn no matter if they win or lose,
that fighting is not the choice to choose.

Teachers

I learned everything I know from you,
you are my teacher, inspiration, and hero too.
There are so many things you did for me,
just to help me find who I'm meant to be.
To me you gave your heart and mind,
just to help me be defined.
I learned by just the way you taught,
what I have to face and fought.
You've always shown me the way,
through my challenges everyday.
And although you won't be around forever,
I'm glad we found our way together.

Oh My Perfect Child

Oh my perfect child, why must you grow so tall?
It wasn't even that long ago, when you were very small.

Oh my perfect child, how do you learn so fast?
Those days of asking all those questions, are now lost within your past.

Oh my perfect child, what makes you be so kind?
There aren't others like you that anyone could find.

Oh my perfect child, you have so much to give.
To help and care for others are the ways that you must live.

Oh my perfect child, you made all your dreams come true.
And that is why my heart is filled, with so much love for you.

Oh my perfect child, keep good memories and don't forget,
the places that you've been or the people you have met.

Going Halloween Haiku Crazy

Halloween is here,
a costume and candy cheer,
frights and scares are near.
