Danton Wolfe Poem
His ribs jutted out,
His body was gaunt.
A living skeleton,
A sight that would haunt.
He drank from muddy waters,
And ate the dirt of the street.
He walked on cracked hooves,
His body was cold, without heat.
He came to a little cottage,
After wandering up a dusty road.
The starved horse was on its last legs,
He was dying, it showed.
Inside the little old house,
A wrinkled widow cried.
Her body was still strong,
But she was broken inside.
Broken from the loss,
Of many a loved one.
She had no company now,
Not a daughter, nor a son.
She looked out her window,
To see a sad sight.
The horse's body was fading,
Its eyes, almost without light.
Her heart was filled with pity,
She decided to care for the creature.
With plenty of food and love,
His starvation she could cure.
The horse brought her happiness,
As his body began to heal.
Her heart was being repaired,
With her sadness, she could now deal.
She never gave him a name,
And she knew she could never ride.
But she had healed him on the outside,
And he had healed her inside.

Danton Wolfe Poem
Twirling scarves
Peacock blues
Life is colour
Colour is life
Shrines, mosques, churches
Religion
Sacred animals
Ancient rituals
Poverty and riches
The two extremes
A beggar's hand
A ruler's feet
Murderers kill in the dark
Children play in the light
Laughter roams he streets
Love does not hide
Dance, sound and music
Bright festivals under the sun
Food is mixed with spice
India is colour

Danton Wolfe Poem
My curse flys with the vulture
who has never learned to die
My blood runs in the water
that reflects the bleeding sky
My soul hides in the shadows
that dance with fire
Forever
Forever leaving footprints in the sand
that lead to the moon
Or Armageddon
Footprints of fatigue
putrid with deception
or fleeting hope...
proud in the exhausted moonlight

Danton Wolfe Poem
As we travel this dusty road,
A road of hardship and strife,
A road of remorse and pain,
We need silent moments in life.
It is these silent moments,
That ease our heavy load.
In the tranquil stillness
We can see a brighter road.
With these silent moments,
We remember His amazing love,
Unconditional and never ending,
Clothed in majesty above.
In these silent moments,
Our minds are filled with hope,
Laughter is heard and a smile is seen.
Without silence, how would this world cope?

Danton Wolfe Poem
It was so silent that I heard a rainbow,
stretch over the cloudless sky,
boasting of its brilliance to the waking earth.
It was so peaceful that I sensed the cold snow,
coming to its death on the first day of spring,
like stars fading into a misty morning sky.
It was so still that I felt dusk falling,
swallowing late afternoon,
into its shadowy darkness.
It was so calm that I knew the first rains
had begun to shed their tears,
on the dark and silent world.

Danton Wolfe Poem
When all the world was silent,
Not a sound was heard,
Not a laugh,
Nor a cry.
Then a voice broke the silence,
Giving life to all who live.
He spoke and there was light,
He breathed and the stars were born.
The silence was pierced,
By the bird’s song,
The cry of wolves,
The laugh of man.
Will that silence be restored?
Will that song ever die?
That cry cease to be heard?
That laugh never sound again?
The One who created these things,
Will not abandon them.
For what he made was good
In silence He will never dwell again.

Danton Wolfe Poem
You breathe, you live
I laugh, I smile
The pain is gone, gone.
Hope lifts me to my feet,
And takes me by the hand.
Joy dances with me,
Sings for me.
I wake and only memories live on,
Only memories.
