Sunset Lake

On the pier, looking out,
The lake is waving all about.
The sun is setting,
Pink and orange colors, the lake is getting.
I watch the colors glistening,
It's time! Are you listening?
The sun just touched the lake,
Did you hear the sizzle that it makes?
Watching the final colors slowly fade away,
A peaceful ending to a busy day.

R.I.P.

I'm sitting here in my room, looking at your picture,
Wondering why you couldn't be part of my future.
Uncontrollable tears stream down my face,
while my heart beat starts to race.
Asking GOD why he took you from my life,
it was more painful than stabbing me with a knife.
I still needed you here,
You were the one to make everything so clear.
You are apart of me and I am apart of you,
When you died, a part of me died too.
I never knew how hard it was to loose one that you love.
Until the day you went to heaven above.
Even though I can't see,
I know your up there watching over me.
I miss you more and more everyday
And all I can do is pray.
In my heart is where you will forever remain.

Defend Yourself Women

Being a woman has its challenges at times,
We're always working hard to only get a couple dimes.
But “man's” comments make me thrive,
Especially the ones about the way we drive.
But put yourself in our shoes and see with what we're dealing,
Then try to say women have too many feelings!
I hear we're suppose to stay in the kitchen to cook and clean,
That's funny! You clean up your mess and make it gleam!
I'm not going to be pushed around! I'm in charge of my life!
If you don't like it-then go find yourself a different wife!
Yes, there is equal rights and opportunities for women and men,
But one day women will be the rulers and men will obey us until the end!

My Greatest Escape

I'm watching you there dreaming,
I have to come up with a plan, I'm scheming.
Finding a way to escape from you,
You abuse me with everything that I do.
I can not live like this no more,
So I'm finally leaving out your front door.
The pain and torture has come to an end,
You hurt me so much, it will be hard to mend.
You stomped on me so much, you broke my heart,
I'm leaving you now, I need a new start.
I am scared and confused but know I'll make it through,
Leaving you is the best thing I'll ever do.
I find the courage and hold my head up high,
Not even glancing back to say a good-bye.
A weight has been lifted off my shoulders,
The memories of you are getting colder.
My spirit has been lifted, I am free,
I am no longer blinded, I can see.
My life finally has a good start,
We are thousands of miles apart.
I can walk around with a smile on my face,
My life is no longer a waste.
I did it, I made it through,
I escaped forever from you!

A Walk To Remember

I met you on that hot summer day,
We were walking by the bay.
You had a gleam in your eye,
I knew then, you were thee guy.
I called you first,
I was so nervous, I almost burst.
We would make small talk,
And hold hands as we went on walks.
I could hear the beating of my heart,
Hoping that we would never part.
My hands would start to sweat,
In my heart, is where you crept.
I was so in love with you,
I could feel it, I just knew.
You loved me back,
Our lives joined together was no act.
We had so much fun,
Everything together we've done.
We would stare into eachother's eyes,
Promising to never say Good-bye.
A couple years went past,
I knew our love would last.
We would always smile,
Our love was no denile.
Then that day came,
The gleam in your eyes was still the same.
You took me to the beach,
Asked me to have a seat.
In your pocket, your hand went,
Then you told the story how we met.
You bent down on one knee,
"Will you be my wife?" You asked me.
I started to cry and answered "YES!"
You held me in your gentle caress.
Six months later, we were married,
In our new home, I was carried.
You laid me on the bed,
"I love you forever." You had said.
We made love that night,
Everything was so perfectly right.
I cuddled close to you,
I then told you, "I love you too."
Days went by, and I was with child,
Your cell phone I then dialed.
I told you that you're gonna be a Daddy.
You jumped for joy, you were so happy.
Then, the day came about,
We had a couple names picked out.
I started to feel real improper,
So you took me to the Doctor.
I was in labor,
Every moment you savored.
I gave birth to our healthy, handsome son.
With him, we were joined as one.
We have a loving family,
Living together happily.
We will always be together,
We promised eachother FOREVER.

A Frog's Life

Would it be fun to be a frog?
Think you'll like it? What could go wrong?
You would hop around everywhere you went,
Living life with your knees always bent.
Your skin can be many different colors,
You would croak instead of a haller.
Your favorite snacks will be bugs,
Catching them only with your tongue.
Your home is anywhere you want it to be,
You could live up in a tree.
Or how about on the ground?
Be careful there, cause you're easily found.
When your peacefully sleeping,
Your predators could be creeping.
So hide really good at night,
That's when some animals come out for a bite!
A hawk, an owl, or even an eagle,
Will be out and about for more than a mingle.
There's also foxes, snakes, and raccoons.
A frog is one of their favorite foods.
So sleep with one eye always open,
Then nothing can eat you, at least you are hoping.

Under That Willow Tree

I'm walking through a beautiful meadow,
The long, tall grass has a tint of yellow.
In the middle, there's a hill,
Should I climb it? I think I will.
On the top sits a willow tree,
It's branches hanging peacefully.
I rest up against the trunk,
Suddenly I hear a "PLUNK!"
I look up to see a squirrel's nest,
It looks like quite a mess.
Winter will be here soon,
He's gathering all his food.
I picked up the nut that fell,
It was shaped like a bell.
I put it on a branch in the tree,
The squirrel brought it right back to me.
I held my hand out,
He crawled into it without a doubt.
He wasn't scared of me,
So I named him BraveLee.
We sat together under that willow tree,
It's branches hanging peacefully.
Then suddenly, a Monarch Butterfly appeared,
Fluttering around without a fear.
She landed on a luscious flower,
Pulling with all her power.
Suddenly, it came out of the ground,
To the earth, it was no longer bound.
The beautiful butterfly flew it over to me,
Laying it in my lap gracefully.
She landed on my knee,
So I named her Heavenly.
The three of us sat there under that willow tree,
It's branches hanging peacefully.
Then a cool breeze blew by graciously,
The three of us enjoyed it patiently.
Then BraveLee climbed up into his nest,
And Heavenly flew away into the west.
I sat there awhile yet,
Happy that we met.
I started smiling under that willow tree,
Wondering if they'll come back tomorrow to see me.
I'll give them a gift then,
Making us Forever Friends.
I started walking away from that willow tree,
It's branches still hanging peacefully.
Hoping tomorrow my friends will be back,
We found a peaceful place we all can relax.
The sun was starting to set.
So, off to home I went.

My Brother

Don't cry, My Brother,
You loved me like no other.
I am at peace,
You can put your mind at eaze.
Show that you care,
Remember to treat others fair.
Live life the fullest that you can,
You've grown into a fine young man.
Don't worry, My Brother,
You cared about me like no other.
I am happy now,
You should smile. You'll remember how.
Show that you can achieve,
In you, I will always believe.
Work hard and do it right,
You'll get there with a fight.
Don't whine, My Brother,
You protected me like no other.
I am safe,
Don't live life in a daze.
Show that you can love,
I'm looking over you from above.
I am always with you,
By your side with everything you do.
Don't fear, My Brother,
You helped me like no other.
I am full of grace,
Holding you in my embrace.
Show that you are brave.
Do one final Good-bye wave.
It is my time to go,
Always remember, I love you so!

Call Me Ol' Fashion

You think by talking sweet to me that you'll score,
But I am woman, hear me ROAR!!
I respect myself to much to just give my goods away,
To you and your quick, boring, selfish lay!
Call me ol'fashion but I take my time,
Cause getting to know one another is not a crime.
Yes, I like to take things slow,
Maybe then your true self will show.
If I like you, you will know,
If I don't, then out the door you'll go!
So be a gentlemen and help us with our seats,
Don't treat us like we're a dirty piece of meat!
You could offer us your coat when we get cold,
Being a gentlemen never grows old.
Also always be polite and use your manners,
Don't be one of those rude jobber-jabbers!
If you want to be with me, there's one thing you have to do,
Just bring the gentlemen out in you!

Being Women

Guys may think being a woman is easy,
But put yourself in our shoes, see if its pleasing.
You'll notice guys talk only to your breast,
Don't bother yelling about it, you'll just waste your breathe.
They'll also try anything to touch your butt just once,
And when they're caught, they only respond “What?”
They think that they are slick,
But us women know all their tricks!
After work you'll come straight home,
To find your man resting on his throne.
But you can't sit! You don't get to rest!
You have to clean up what other people messed!
Then you cook a healthy dinner,
Everything's delicious, you feel like a winner.
But receive no compliment from him on how it taste,
Waiting for that moment to come would be a waste.
After dinner, you have to wash all the dishes,
While scrubbing your hoping a genie would appear to grant you 3 wishes:
First, to have conversations face to FACE.
Second, would be for your life to be happy and seem not a waste.
And third, to be respected and not pushed around.
But, unfortunately your genie is never found.
Dishes are finally done and put away,
Everything is wiped clean except the hallway.
You sweep and mop away all the marks,
Then get startled from the dog's bark.
The baby wakens with a scream!
There goes your rest and peacefully dreams.
Maybe tomorrow you'll finally get to sleep,
Hoping that your sanity is what you'll keep.
