Beauty

Starlight, star bright;
first star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
bestow the reality to this life.
An innocent child, a broken heart,
you name the drama, she’s played the part.
Ruthless fiends leave her godless,
like her make up leaves her flawless.
Cherry kissed lips form a pout,
lipstick distorts her mouth.
Mascara seems as a necessity,
because beauty is only skin deep.

Why Daddy?

Some girls look up to their daddy,
think that he is a king.
But he just broke her heart
leaving a bitter sting.

It didn't take long to realize
he never knew it all.
Daddy was never around,
except with breath of alcohol

Now his eyes are glazed over,
and his touch so very cold.
Daddy isn't feeling well,
at least thats what she's told

"It's time to go home baby,
just climb into the car.
I'll be okay to drive you home,
it isn't very far."

A helicopter lands,
and she's taken from a pool of blood.
Why did daddy do this to her;
isn't she supposed to be loved?

She was a fool to belive him,
now that he has taken her life.
She would blame herself if she could,
for letting daddy drink and drive.

The Assumptions of Perfection

She is a pretty little girl
keeping her life in line.
At least that is what is thought of her,
she refuses to show it's a lie.
She puts on a good act,
she never lets her pain show.
Everyone fell in love with her smile,
while her hurt they will never know.
"You have it all made out for you,"
yeah, that is what they say.
She laughs at the thought of it all,
when she barely makes it through the day.
She is a pretty little girl,
empty promises and a broken heart.
Two slits across her wrists,
she was never happy from the start.

Sad Girl

Puddles form at the bottom of her feet,
another night she cries herself to sleep.
If only she could find a way to escape the pain,
to break this curse, and once again become sane.
She is so sick of the fights, sick of the lies,
what girl is this, who constantly cries?
She hates everything, and she hates everyone.
She lost her lust for life, when life lost its fun.
Maybe someday she'll be perfect again,
she won't hate the world, she'll be just like them.
She'll be that perfect girl everyone looks for,
she will be happy for once, and not want more.
But until that day comes when life is completely right,
she'll drown in the tears that she cries at night.

Life Unlived

Gazing upon yourself,
seeing all that you are.
What have you become?
You haven't gone too far.

Something like a painful life,
seems that is what you live.
Something like a painless smile,
seems that is what you give.

But you escape all that is,
losing control over time.
You leave this world for a while
through your constant highs.

Actins as someone you're not,
tell me how it feels -
to be diminished by the truth,
of everything thats real.

Stolen from reality,
obliterated by your alibi,
helplessly seeking redemption,
as you merely live a lie.

Gone Away From Reality

Standing all alone in the
cold of a crimson night.
I can feel the warmth of your touch,
something so far from right.
My sanity is slowly slipping,
even further from my reach.
Then I realize ruthless demons,
are playing games with me.
To think that you'd ever come back;
to think you'd ever remember me.
I shake the thought of what we had,
and drown in my own self pity.
What is the truth or a lie,
the difference I can no longer tell.
I've gone away to my own place,
where I'm isolated in my own hell.
Now I must fall back to reality,
where I'm fated to spend forever on my own.
When will this battle be over?
Who am I fighting.. when I'm all alone?

This So-Called Life

I used to admire the glow of the stars,
hanging upon the black ink sky.
But now they seem to mock my innocence,
knowing this life is nothing more than a lie.

I used to love that special feeling I got
from the shine of the summer sun.
But now I prefer the pouring rain,
which hides my tears as they run

I used to live for all those spring days,
when I felt as though I was nothing less than free.
But now I'm a slave to constant heart break,
waiting for someone to rescue me

They say with time alone,
all your pain will heal.
But too much of one remedy kills,
making you too numb to feel.

Perfection

She seems so perfect,
with curvy hips.
Sweet kisses,
from cherry lips.
Pressed powder,
a face so flawless.
Short skirt -
she seems so godless.
Eyes that dazzle,
hair that shines.
Brush in hand,
all the time.
Fake smile
with perfect teeth.
the reality of beauty -
it's only skin deep.

Silly Girl

As she goes to say hello,
he looks the other way.
She struggles for fidelity,
his bitterness she cannot take.
What has she done so bad;
where had she gone so wrong?
Her heart is slowly breaking,
she can barely hold on.
Helpless little girl,
with a tear in her eye,
maybe someday she will realize
that love is nothing more than a lie.
Wake up little princess,
move on and stop pretending.
In this game of love,
there is never a fairy tale ending.
