Ana Solomon Poem
My name is Shadow,
Daughter of the Night and Sorrow,
Heir of the Kingdom of the Unknown,
A mystery that lays deep in my every bone.
My name is Shadow,
And I love daylight, when I’m not invisible to you,
When I can be by your side, in a life so hollow,
Cause you are my every color, but without you I’m only blue.
So please sleep with your light on,
Let me be an everlasting existence in your world,
You won’t be afraid of me like others, right?
When I’m the only darkness present in the light.
I hope you will see me for who I really am, one cursed for eternity,
Who longs to be a lover, not a watcher of cruelty,
And I just ask you to acknowledge me from time to time,
‘Cause only your eyes can bring the stars to make me, daughter of the Night, shine.
Or will you just be like everyone else,
People who see me for the monster that I was born,
Not valiant enough to break the pattern of my mess,
And too scared to touch me for being a rose full of thorns.

Ana Solomon Poem
I’ll wait for you,
Like Penelope waited for Odysseus,
In the long-lost there was a love she knew,
One that your heart and mine are oblivious to.
Her and I are waiting with great uncertainty,
For a love that maybe will never come,
Cause hers maybe died in the Trojan War,
And mine definitely loved another.
But when Penelope’s husband that she was
Waiting and waiting and waiting for, will come,
I’ll still wait for you,
‘Till Ithaca becomes a city of ruin,
‘Till I’ll become nothing but an old relic.
I’ll wait ‘till you will be my ruination,
And ever after.

Ana Solomon Poem
It’s not fair to me,
For you to be, to exist.
And maybe you wonder why,
Why your simple presence is such a colossal calamity,
To my eye.
Well, I wanna see everything,
Every corner of the world I live in,
I wanna see the Westminster Abbey in London,
I wanna see the Campidoglio in Rome,
I wanna see the Cathedral Cove in New Zealand,
I wanna see it all.
But I can’t look the other way, at the world,
I won’t resist,
Not when you do exist,
Not when I can look at you, instead.
In you’re presence,
Even the wonders of the world fade to nothing,
So I’d still look at you,
And only at you.
You may leave,
You may go to the other side of the world,
Even the other side of the universe, if you believe,
So I can get my sight that I deserved.
But I won’t,
I will just search blindly,
For you,
Until you are back before my eyes,
Until you’re gaze binds me,
To you.
I wanna see the world,
And sometimes I wonder,
What is the world?
Is it a place,
Or is it someone you love?
‘Cause every time I say I wanna see the world,
My head turns back to you,
So maybe you are the world,
Or maybe just my greatest doom.

Ana Solomon Poem
Art is everywhere,
In every corner of the universe,
Cause everywhere I look,
I see a glimpse of you.
I see you in all the stars of the night sky,
Shining like you always do,
And I love the brightest one,
Cause it makes me feel closer to you.
I see you in the summer air, I see you in water,
Where my love for you is like never the ending sea,
And where the kiss of the sun is the warmth of your hand on my cheek.
I see you in the fire,
I feel your burning love that turns my heart into ashes,
And I know that your flame,
For me,
Will burn everything to the ground,
Will burn everyone till they are nothing,
Till it’s just you and me.
I see you in every painting,
I hear you in every song,
And I read you in every poem,
Cause you are my universe, you are my art.

Ana Solomon Poem
You promised you’d come back,
To the girl you left behind,
Cause you let her turn into dark,
In the dawn of the night.
Why did you go out in the world,
To save it from the dead,
Is this our destiny,
For you to be the hero of the wild,
And me to be the girl you left behind.
When will you come back?
To the girl you left behind,
You saved the world, but will you save her?
From the water of the crazy,
Where she’s gonna drown endlessly.
Will you miss her?
The girl you left behind,
When she’ll fill her lungs with madness and suffering,
When she’ll become one with the wind,
And turn into the daughter of the mist.
I am the girl you left behind,
With flowers in her hair,
From the garden of our past,
An eternal thought of sadness,
That I can still see in your holy eyes,
Nameless, just a simple girl,
That eventually past you will arise,
But will never fall.

Ana Solomon Poem
“Please” is such a small word,
Almost insignificant,
We are so used to hear it,
I swear, it’s almost absurd.
“Please” is like a sweet child, asking for candies,
You can see the hungry eyes,
Though there is only innocence in them,
No disguise, no lies.
But “please" can be me,
Asking you to “Please let me be yours until eternity,”
Begging on my knees, with tears in my eyes for you to agree,
To be mine, as I am yours, and call it destiny.
I can’t help it, talking about it,
Talking about it more then the kid with the candy,
Because that was a simple thing, but love is not,
Thousands of years and thousands of books,
But we still cannot explain what love actually is.
You probably think that I’m crazy,
‘Cause there is no way a sane person could fall so hard,
But there I am, and maybe I’m out of my mind,
Sending letters to the sky,
Asking if one day you’re gonna be mine.
I’ll admit, it’s weird how someone can use the word “please,”
In so many ways,
How you can ask for someone’s help, someone’s phone,
But also, someone’s heart, someone’s soul.

Ana Solomon Poem
There is a mystical place from far beyond,
A realm where no and every man is known,
That’s the place where I used to be queen,
Until the Conqueror Of My Dreams entered the scene.
There was no bloodshed, no battle,
In the Kingdom of my Dreams,
Cause when he made my silent heart rattle,
I knew the war was lost before it even begin.
So I let him, I let him have the power,
He could even lock me in a dark, haunted tower,
As long as he will never forget to be there,
An eternal though that causes my heart to tear.
But I don’t believe he would throw me to the wolves cause I’ll let him,
The one who visits me every night when I go to sleep,
Where we can meet, in my kingdom that he conquered,
A safe haven for the two of us to try to keep.
So everyday when I get the chance,
I’ll go back to the place full of mysteries in between,
And I hope I can throw a just glance,
Or maybe meet the Conqueror Of My Dreams.
