A Nod to Dante's Inferno

A nod to Dante’s Inferno

First: Home to unbaptized and the self-righteous
Retirement home of the afterlife
Aristotle, is there, in his own way, pious
So, deep talks, CSPAN, and not much strife

Second: The final home of the lecherous
Anyone controlled by their own hormones
Cleopatra, Helen is there, so adulterous
And, reality tv stars calls it their home

Third: Gluttons have found a slushy home here
Instagram stars posting photos of food
People called “foodies” without any care
Eternity is here, whether bad or good

Fourth: The money grubbers and people of greed
Fighting over money and valuables
Wishing ill upon others for the bad need
Of money, greed, and the hell that pulls

Fifth: On the River of Styx, the angry do live
Wrathful people waging wars at all costs
The road raging man, on anger, that thrives
The fifth circle is reserved for these lost

Sixth; Heretics spend eternity, here, in fire
Although, it’s an obscure sin, in these times
These lost souls, still are here, with anguished cries
Choked with ashes and with the grime

Seventh: Outer ring reserved for the thugs and killers
Middle ring is reserved for the suicidal
Eighth: This level is home to con artists and swindlers
Ninth: Home to the traitors, mostly political

Happy New Year

As midnight strikes and fireworks shine,
Wishing you a year divine.
May love, laughter, and joy unfold,
Happy New Year, dear friends, may it be your best to hold."

Sweet Mude

Sweet Muse

Dream of dreams, your moonlit eyes
The way you smile; oh, that grin
Wonderful, waiting surprise
Waits behind those eyes, within

The depths of your sad soul
Longing for the touch of fire
A lover to make you whole
A woman to stir those desires

Hmmm, sweetness melts on my lips
The taste of muscadine wine
The way my hands grip your hips
Oh, my muse and, my Goddess Devine
