Limbo

restless I stay
Stuck in Limbo
is Heaven above and Hell below
I can’t remember
I am stuck
to go either way I must take action
I must unravel the colorful cluster of yarn you left behind
but you left me in Limbo not knowing I was color blind
having to reckon with your symphony of inaction
so I turn to rational thinking
Charting the pros and cons
and yet I see that it not Heaven or Hell above and below
rather each direction is a mix of both
So here I stay in Limbo
forever restless

The growing tree

There is a part of that still bleeds
A part of that I was supposed to shed
How a snake sheds its skin
It will not leave
Almost Like a slab of metal forced into a young tree
Separating her from me
I see how she weeps
I observe how she rages when the blows
How she dances in the wind and blooms in the rain
How her leaves dance to ground in the fall
I see her struggle from the corner of my eye
Growing in the opposite direction yet still apart of me

The curse of clarity

Mountain, wind, freedom
River, water, clarity
Dessert, sand, anger

Rain

Raining down on me
Never thought you would leave me
The rain is so cold

No strings attached

You asked for no strings attached
So I pull at my lose threads
I feel as though I am about vomit
I don’t recognize who I am anymore and neither do you
But I keep pulling because
You asked for no stings attached
Each imperfection is another lose end for me to pull
…
I am smaller now I have shrunk down to half my size
Because you asked for no strings attached
Would you put me in your pocket and carry me around or would you put me in a box where I could never be found
Passing thoughts so I can ingore reality
The world moves on as I wind down as I pull the last thread I hear no sound
I see no light
I feel no joy
No pain no sorrow
Nothing but a shimmering light
I emerge from a tunnel with all new strings
Bound together by all that is me
I look inside the tunnel that I had left I see you pacing around what is left
A pile of thread that is no longer
Because you asked for no strings attached
