Dream Weaver

Oh Great Dream Weaver
may the strands of hair
be placed just so

While the fog settles down
out in the fields hovering
ever so low

With wise hands just where
to wind the leather
to know

How to entangle bad dreams,
caught upon your web
so away they go

Through the many intricate
patterns and all the
tiny little holes

Permit the good dreams
to pass through and
take hold

I Cry Alone

Time passing all around in the air Seemingly so without even a care On the ground an empty turtle shell Off to swim the vacant waterless well Watching from inside the tree so hollow The Pied Piper plays and they all follow Staring blanks into that black hole sun Marching prisioners from the lost race run Hark the demons and how they do sing Calling out unto the sacred buried things Echoing reverb in the darkness so vast Spiral downward crazy how it goes so fast Searching for answers in all that's unsaid But left speechless and one of the undead Anticipating that strife and all the misery Quietly awaiting amid all that haunts me Counting the leaves while they do fall down During the removal of such a gifted crown Grasping fiercely stubborn for what I may When all the cherished goods steal away Screaming silence and left in the wake As the mirror begins to crack and break Turning to the darkest parts deep inside Bravely I dig into that cesspool of pride Bringing winter's bitter yet sweet icy cold Touching the shards of glass ever so bold But the shattered pieces turn into icy stones And while bleeding among them I cry alone Copyright by Scarlett Sepulvado Anderson

No Fear

There is a place inside my head Where thoughts of other worlds will tread When I awaken from a dream Standing alongside a purple stream With a lime green cast upon the skies And a twinkling glimmer in my eyes Moons and stars that look so queer And a rushing sound within my ears I wonder if I should be afraid To be in a place quite so strange Roots of trees lying all around Whilst comes a rumbling from the ground There beyond the shivering leaves Many eyes staring back at me Out of the shroud of thickened mist On my hand is placed a gentle kiss The nerves of steel begin to fray With a restless feeling akin to dismay As a darkening shadow draws so near And yet still. I feel no fear. Suddenly aware of fields of green The most beautiful place I've ever seen A carpet of turquoise flows through the hills Mine greedy eyes can't get their fill With windows wide open to a soothing breeze Finding it's way through the forest of trees Leaving resonating echoes loud as a train As I felt a tremble inside my brain I hear whispers there upon my ear And yet still. I feel no fear The origin of such a beautiful song Grabbing my hand and pulling me along Oh it's the One who gave me life Father dearest with all your might Giving me the strength to let you go And become a part of the superlative show With a gentle hand once again to dry my eyes While I watch you capture such a glorious prize Deep down I can feel the time is near And yet still. I feel no fear Scattered pieces of a great full life Flash before mine deep inside A heart string is plucked to the tune of love Played by an angel sent from way up above While brilliant rays of light abound There I see you safe and sound Traveling back alone from where I came Crying buckets of tears like pouring rain Recalling the soft whisper you had to say "Be happy my child. We'll meet again one day." Feeling a presence always so near And yet still. I feel no fear

Sensitivity

There is a certain sad quality
To the overwhelming sensitivity
With which offers much reality
Of course then subsequently
Causing hurt feelings with cruelty
Emitting out such animousity
Against a soul with such frailty
Will cause a certain casualty
With winners left behind spiritually
Cold as a stone internally
And blind as a bat visually
While the fragile soul will soar endlessly
Far, far away from all the negativity

You'Ve Won

The anger that from you seeps
All around your aura it does creep
Fingertips of darkness reach from within
To reach the contents of this lonely den

And burns as it touches the skin

Oh words of fire from your lips
As faces melt and begin to drip
Like wax a facade before me
Hardened by the innocent breeze

Reaching deeper than the surface of thee

Innocence there is no more
Once knocking upon the door
Finally opened and in you came
Wreaking havoc to cause me pain

No umbrella for thee out in the rain

The weapon it became so very dull
Trying to crack the hardened hull
Then when to conquer no more
Go on crawling out the door

Leaving empty. Wanting more.

Thinking you've taken all there is
But no mistaken about the miss
If only known how you failed
To touch the parts that are still in jail

Tempting hard but to no avail

Came so close but once again no game
So very close but all is the same
Close enough to breach the wall
Peek over the edge before the fall
Looking to that setting sun
Refusing here to come undone

As I sadly tell you that you've won

Falling

When I look into your eyes
I feel a deep sense of surprise
At the willingness of this tattered heart
That for so long would have no part
In wanting eyes and loving thoughts
For fear of the hurt these feelings brought

When I lay within your arms
That appear to mean me no harm
I often think and sometimes wonder
How I could get so lucky to feel the thunder
A feeling of warmth and total bliss
Begins to surround me as we kiss

When I'm standing along by your side
The feelings are so over whelming I cannot hide
Behind the mask of strong and tough
No longer will the mask even be enough
To overcome the bond so quickly felt
As I look at you and simply melt

When I sit down with my thoughts tonite
I think to myself that I must begin to write
And I move the pen attempting to create the perfect rhyme
That could begin to describe my feelings at this time
The feelings you so elegantly recalled
From within the depths of these four walls

Native Grief

Twas nothing around me, no
place or time
Feelings of nothing that
felt so sublime
As I shaved off my hair so
long and fine
Grief over the family I had
at one time
Taken by a White Man's Nation so
cruel and unkind

Twas nothing around me, no
place or time
Feelings of nothing that
felt so sublime
Oh Great One tell me just
where am I
Beyond all the grief and my
Choctaw-Apache pride
That voice all at once it
came from inside
Within ourselves where we all
tend to hide

Twas nothing around me, no
place or time
Feelings of nothing that
felt so sublime
"Oh small One " he spoke
in my mind
Rise above all that's so
cruel and unkind
Your hair will grow back, just
give it time

Note: In my culture when one is grieving over a great loss we shave our heads. The
teaching is that however long it takes for your hair to grow back is your graceful
period to grieve. All things take time. But once your hair does grow back you must
move on with your life or be seen as wallowing and pathetic.

today

(Aho. Hear my prayer!) Today is a good day to die No matter what's happening or going on in the sky Every day is a good day to die No matter what we think of it. You and I. One day we are all going to die No matter. Even if we choose to close our eyes So make Today a good day to die And may thy Spirit be ready for the journey and flight Yakoke Inspired by my Native American spirituality. Vision Quest

O Great Spirit of the Vision Quest Puts me now through this test Awaken thee in midst of night Scared at first half a fright A Vision seen ever so clear Then a whisper heard upon the ear Shivers and prickles down to the feet Intensity sends a rising bolt to a seat Staring into darkness ever so bold Awaiting instructions to do as I'm told In the silence there tis to be found Answers but much noise can abound Humble thyself before the Great Holy One To live by the humming of the beat of the Spirit Drum Ask for guidance for what must come to be Wisdom, Patience, and Maturity A Quest from above that sees my heart yearn To know all that's wished for me to learn Watch the Eagles soar and unite once again That's when the Vision Quest shall begin Watch them soar! Watch them fly! Burning down deep into that inward eye Then Gather from their feathered wings To praise the Spirits then dance and sing As the eye is caught in splendid wonder There shall I go and place me under Falling Eagle feathers to the ground Gathered to thy home kept safe and sound Give Spiritual Healing for all who keep The Eagle feathers by their sleep Be off I must now go to behest And fulfill the Spirit of the Vision Quest
Note: I wrote a poem called "Eagles Death Dive" and described that I was on a "Vision Quest" to see the wild Eagles pair mate once again. Many quesions arose asking "What is a Vision Quest?". This poem was inspired by the Vision Quest itself and from the literary reviews asking me questions and for more information. A registered Native Am. is the only person in the USA that can legally hold or possess any part of a Bald Eagle including it's feathers which are used in rituals and hold powerful spiritual meaning.
