My light, my ember
The end of September, October, November

Wanting, Waiting

Wanting, waiting
Loving, hating
Does this world count
All the good deeds that flow about
One said, God keeps our tears
in a bottle, bundled with fears
Or with happiness with our peers
We can stumble upon rocks
We can stare at broken clocks
Wanting waiting to be found
By all love that lingers around
Anger held within ones soul
Together we all will unfold
This mystery why we fight
among eachother
We are all equal
why do we hate eachother
dropping bombs all over poor countries
Shouting unkind remarks around the schoolground
almost everywhere
are battlefields
We only go on
Because we have to
This earth is beautiful
Let's try not to trash it
This is our only world
Only life
make it meaningful

Wonders of Wonderful Cooking

Whisking clear white egg whites
Cracking one by one
As they stiffen
They double in size
Isn't it beautiful?
Like a cake rising in the oven
A pie crisping up
sifting flour
It sprinkles like fresh soft snow into the bowl
What a Marvel!
Kneading bread dough
tough as it is to do
It makes you smile
makes you giggle
Then it triples
becoming a fluffy soft pillow
Isn't it magical?
When you glide your rubber spatula
across the top of the batter
in the pan
Flick the oven light on
and sit there
watch the cake transform
once a wet gooey goodness
now a light moist cloud
A Mystery it is.....
Read the wonders of wonderful cooking
In my poem up above
My little write to the kitchen arts
Try it
There's nothing that you won't love!

(Except for the cleaning!!!!!)

My Odd Silver Mind

My odd silver mind
It grows through time
When I stop thinking
it stops growing
My odd silver mind

[ I wrote this when I was like 4 or 5 years old ;-) ]

The Rock

Furious feelings
Hieves of anger
Big brown eyes,
stare into dim reflection
Others pass and go,
but her, the rock
stares at nothing
A flickering box, alive and loud
That never dies, but makes you desend, slowly
Your eyes become red, like blood
But her, the rock
seeming to be paralized
blood storm clouded eyes
stuck on the box
She is yet still alive, but gone
Leaving a ghost
a whisper in the wind, footsteps in a parade,
..........alone.......
But her, the rock is bold and tough
but not all bad
you trip on her, but use her as a step
Fall down when climbing, but still you got up there
A chair to sit on
a hazard, a boulder
a stone
the rock

Extract of Unhappiness

I have emptyness inside my bristling bones
Filled with sorrow, away, alone
I'm in between the lines of a blank paper
separate from the others, like a skyscraper
Does anyone lend out a hand?
Does anyone understand?
Only one but he has reasons
to be gone at certain seasons
Will I ever find another friend?
Will I survive till the end?
I grow weiry of these feelings
I am tired, unexpired
Tick tock tick goes the clock
I await for him to step in the door
Then these feelings go away
But not forever,
They'll be back someday......

I Am In Virginia

I sit on the balcony
legs swinging, with a friend
hoping this summer
will never end
I feel the country breeze
on my face
Hearing many sounds,
that leave no trace
looking down on uncle Jim's farm
the fields are endless
the sun is so warm,
the fireflys twinkle
like stars, and swarm
the river runs wildly,
waterfall foams idly
dad fell on a slippery rock,
spashing by me..
The rain, pitter patters,
frogs on the pond, splatter
a drip, droppity song

Dungeon Men

Trapped inside a hole of hatred
dungeon men ratteling bones
Trying to lure the humdrum dog
Drooling, with the keys clenched in it's mouth
They give out cries of sorrow
calling the scruffy dog
holding the keys
Nightfall comes
The men lay cold on the frigid floor
Not knowing what they have in store
They long their freedom, as it calls to them
during their sleepless nights
in the jail cell
They dream of the summer mornings
dream of snowy nights
with the iceicles glistening in the moonlight
laynig cozy, in their warm, heated house
Wanting, waiting for their release
hopeing, dreaming to be in peace
The dungeon dog howls, a long, piercing howl
Wondering why he's there
he asks himself
"How did I get in the mess?
I want to run outside, not to wander dreary, filthy dungeon cells!"
But that also is what the dungeon men say
they whisper that message to themselves
every night
They stay and dwell
in filthy old dungeon cells
With papers that say life long sentence

Today Feels Like a New Day

The dark blood clouds have left
It feels like the sun came out for the first time
More people feel like they belong
I feel like I belong
I feel like the wars will end and the fighting will stop
The world will see us as we are
Not as fearful, angry, vengeful people
Not as a fat, overfed, country
They think we waste food
Stuffing our mouths with gold, and spitting it out as trash
While other countries starve.
They think we don't care when innocent people die
We do waste money on weapons of blood
instead of bread for the hungry
They see our homeless people and frown,
They do not see our values
We do waste money on big screen TVs
giant houses, and SUVs
That cause drought and global warming
While other countries suffer
As we slouch on our couches, wasting energy
............IS THIS WHO WE ARE?...................
NO! We elected Obama! We are peaceful, not violent!
We drop food on poor countries, not bombs!
Obama said, "We extend a hand to those who unclench theirs.
We will preserve our earth, and American jobs!"
Bush said, "History? We don't know, we'll all be dead!"
I say, " Your children won't be!"
He's past! this is now,
The future looks great.

( I wrote this a year ago with my dad for an assighnment. ;-) Hope you like it!!!)

Thyme and Sage

How I crave the warmth and cool
Hop in a puddle, then a pool
Sit on a throne, then a stool
How I wish I can go to school
Half of me broke off, and has gone away
My life stays an unmolded piece of clay
I want to hop around and play
with others my own age
I smell the air of thyme and sage
Wish me luck,
Maybe I will someday
