Shark

Shark 29 March 2022

Suddenly appearing,
Swimming closer to you,
Slowly it circles you,
Surrounding you in blue,
Sharp teeth, gray skin, black eyes,
Sand flies; it disappears!
Swirling blue sea left now.

View of Death

How vast the view of Death!
Sure, it’s a certainty,
That's why many fear it,
From children to adults,
Are you first to admit?

How vast the view of Death!
Some long for the Reaper,
To save them from their pain,
They think Death will cure them,
But it would be in vain.

How vast the view of Death!
Some think they can escape,
How cautious they will be,
But from his icy grip,
Never could you be free.

How vast the view of Death!
From the Old Man and Eye,
To the two lovers star,
Perhaps Prince Prospero,
Trust me, you won't get far.

The Actor

He flashed a smile on his way out,
Giving his co-workers a wide wave,
And he had absolutely no doubt,
That he was better than his friend Dave.

He struts past all the buildings and shops,
Straightens his tie and suit in the glass,
And then he goes across the blacktop,
And checks his antique watch made of brass.

Now the city is dirty and dark,
Every once in a while it’s unsafe,
There's the constant sound of a dog’s bark,
This is a place where one might lose faith.

And the man slouches and drags his feet,
He loosens his tie and dips his head,
He is a man in total defeat,
His sorrow is heavier than lead.

His shoes are worn and old, but shiny,
His suit is rips and tears, only inside,
His soul suddenly feels much more tiny,
When he realized all he's done is lied.

Though he is tired and exhausted,
This is where he feels the most at home,
Which makes it worth more than it costed,
All the while he is here at home.

The Hollow Man

My spirit has been ripped from its home,
Scraped out of its most cozy cove,
My mind and body having been its abode.
Now I feel nothing but nothing,
Oh how I wish that would leave me stinging.
No feeling at all is the worst feeling.
Devoid of any happiness and joy,
My emotions are what you destroy.
My face is just a decoy.
I do my best at every trial,
But everything seems to be futile.
My family seems to be in denial.
My body is vacant of me,
'Myself' is something no one will ever see,
From this shell I want to be free.
My sense of self is gone,
Along with all mental brawn,
From my soul, this casing of flesh has been sawn.
I have already disappeared under the quicksand,
Lost below this awful land,
I am but a Hollow man.

An Omen

My, what an omen!
One you decide if it’s good,
Or full of black sin.

Spring Rain

dew on morning grass,
breathe the essence of spring rain ~
sweet, light, clear, fresh, soft.
