Kirkland Fisher Poem
There is comfort in the arms of the Good Shepherd, His rod secures me like covering wings, but I'm not compelled to stay there, for the gift of choice gives me the strings,
As lovingly He guides me through the pastures, my eyes glance here and there, I'll just slip away a little there's no danger here, I'll tarry a little while yet, what harm can that do, while all the time hidden dangers lurks just beyond my view, further and further I wander from the Shepherds caring arms, deceptive beauty entreats me, so hard to resist its charms, further and further I drift, imperceptively slow the slip,
too late I realize my peril, no strength to break the grip, the squeeze gets tighter and tighter, sweet breath is almost gone, how did I let this happen, why failed I to be warned, casting up a hand in desperation to see what it may find,
a familiar hand reached downward and grasp the trembling mine, ah, back in the safety of my Shepherd's arms, why did I ever leave, you'd think I'd learn my lesson and to my Shepherd ever cleve.
yet time and again I wander from my Shepherd's loving care, and time and again He rescues, and never does forbear, each time the rescue gets harder, sin's alluring grip more tight,
the cry for help gets weaker, lesser and lesser the fight, Oh help me learn the danger which comes with every slide, and stay always with my Shepherd,
never leave His loving side,
take only my Shepherd's feeding,
stay far from forbidden treat,
Oh my soul, thou foolish sheep! tie thee fast to thy Shepherd's feet.

Kirkland Fisher Poem
Charmed by the alluring serpent I followed fast its path, then suddenly it turned and bit me and I knew I would not last; as my dreaded death drew closer, agony of soul and body rose, I desperately sought salvation but saw all doors were closed; then following an inner whisper I looked beyond death's cruel mound, and saw the figure of a serpent stretched up above the ground, He was fastined to a stake which stretched from Earth to Sky, it was that same sin-serpent which now causes my soul to die, but as the evening's dark lights flickered, it morphed to someone else, in horror I beheld now and saw my very self!
as my sorrowful eyes reopened and upon that wooden orifice rise, it was the Son of Heaven I saw now before my weeping eyes, but He was pure and sinless, so how could these things be, then suddenly it hit me, He had become sin for me. But if He is there dying, then what's to become of me, then a pond showed my reflection and I saw that I was He. Changing place with me He embraced my hopeless loss, for this guilty soul's redemption my Guiltless Lord endured the Cross.
-For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2nd Corinthians 5:21)

Kirkland Fisher Poem
Covid-19 did not catch the Lord by
surprise,
for all times lays bare before
His all-seeing eyes;
the pandemic may have changed our lives
forever,
but there is a God who changeth never;
we are overwhelmed
by the massiveness of the trees,
but trust in the One
who the entire forest sees;
the workings of the Enemy
brings sadness and fear,
and some has wondered,
doesn't God care?
but I know the God I serve,
know of His love,
His mercy and infinite grace,
and I know
He sees the tears on every face;
the ravages of sin
has brought much sorrow and pain
and God has wrongly bore the blame, but
what our finite minds see as a loss,
Infinite deems a brief repass,
but it won't be long now
before all will know,
the love and wisdom which led us so,
for soon
sin will have played its final hand,
it's final hurt on "fallen-man,"
seen in all its ugliness and shame,
many shall shed its cruel claim,
and embrace the name of Christ instead,
whose precious blood for all was shed;
it's almost time for the end
of all the wrong,
when the saints
shall sing redemption's song,
then we will see God's wisdom
in all we bore,
and know HIS love forevermore!

Kirkland Fisher Poem
So many struggles and strife, but we are not alone in this,
for we've give him Jesus our lives
and we are not alone in this,
there're obstacles yes, left and right,
but we're not alone in this, with Christ we shall face every fight, we are not alone in this,
even when life seems out of control, we're not alone in this,
for it's Jesus who shelters our soul, we are not alone in this,
our faith may be tested now more and more,
but we're not alone in this, we know Christ for ourselves
and are sure, that we are not alone in this,
anything you do, or anything I do, we'll ask Jesus to guide us,
and so anywhere you go, or anywhere I go,
He'll be right there beside us, the trials we go through,
He's going through them too, no He never leaves us,
even sorrows which hurts so, the comfort is to know He's able to heal us, yes anything you do, or anything I do, we'll ask Jesus to guide us, and so, anywhere you go, or anywhere I go, He is always beside us, the trials we go through,
He's going through them too, for He never leaves us, even sorrows which hurts so, the comfort's to know He's able to
heal us.
