Soumya Adusumilli Poem
Milky petals propagate in circles
Blooming into purity
Silky smooth layers wrap around each other
Attracting even the Queen Bee
To mark a new beginning,
She opens herself up to the world
With immense pride she matures
But why do all the creatures...
Observe her from afar?
Beneath her beauty lies danger
Without knowing, she is armed with thorns,
Mother Nature’s dreadful gift
As her allure fades she cries for help
Her existence craves a simple touch
But with the nasty chill,
And the bundling snow
She closes herself off—
As no one comes for her.

Soumya Adusumilli Poem
My Tears, My Beautiful Tears
Why must I hold back?
My eyes, my windows to the world, why must I keep them shut?
In my sorrow, why should I trap my Tears and drown?
Let them flow, let them run down my burning cheeks
Fall to the ground, leave me
Don’t stay bottled up, be free
My tears, my beautiful Tears
Go explore without shame, don’t shield my eye
My voice, my beautiful Voice
Why do you not sing?
Let others hear, don’t fear
My hands, my beautiful Hands
Don’t shake, don’t shake
Tame the fire, calm your heart
Release yourself
And remember you are free
