Phish Food

You don't have to be free

to live in a democracy

Just ask the president of our US of A

got a new reason for the war everyday

rich or poor we're all the same

The war on terror and the war on drugs

just trying to blame something for what Hypocricy does

thought control

                gun control

if no one's buying

      that means they got sold

watch out you don't lose your soul

oils more important then life, it's like gold

weapons of destruction

    i have yet to see

we gotta kill millions so few can be free

          my name's America

get in line to be like me

I know better because i'm the best

and my bombs bigger than yours

in the nuclear weapons test

if the media says it... it must be true

Destroy! Attack!

    America, there's your cue.

Some life's more important than others

THAT'S why we fight for peace as we Kill one another

where's there left to place some blame?

Can we help that we teach hate

 in our secular faiths

So everyday of this war

     Remember what we're fighting for....

What's that? You can't be too sure..

Think we'll EVER find a cure

for the disease of human nature?

She Walks

She walks to the beat of the bass drum

searchin' for love

down the street

with experienced feet

her head held high

eyes set straight

impatiently...she waits

disconnected and rejected

often neglected and disrespected

she sifts through her brain

lookin' for another way

just a place to escape

Overdosed on reality

just another technicality

of the opiate of the masses

ripping through her sunglasses

pounding on the door of life

everyone tells her she's wrong

but all alone she's always right

could u only love the day

if you only existed at the night?

Questions with no answers

plaguing her like cancer

and still.... she walks on

to the beat of the bass drum

awaiting for her cure to come

A Poem For You

Just another voice in a sea of voices

Just another day amongst living corpses

Just another consequence of my choices

actions, obsessions, expecting regressions...

Just another girl.

Here.

Alone in the world

Just another mistake...that I'll make.

In between the breaths I take.

Just another stake through the heart...

and a shot in the dark....

that'll pull me apart.

like a frown....then a sigh.

Always waiting for the time

to say my quick goodbyes

to another you

who was new

to my mind

when together we could hide

deep inside, staying dry

from the rain, and the pain

lost far away, our own space

where the music was so loud

and i found you in the crowd

amongst all the thick thick clouds

of smoke

and we joked

of how we were so broke

from all the laws we'd revoked

I wanted life to be so fast

and that feelin not to pass

   just make it last.

all the dancing and the laughter

knew I'd never see you after

so we let go and oceans flowed

we gave up going slow

we were free

Phish in the sea

just one more love scene

let it be.

just don't forget me
