Nobody's Child

Her chapped palms smell of
-ungrateful jasmine-
roughened by shrewd plays of world.
And in the creases of
- youthful forehead-
sleeps an orphaned childhood, old.

Among distasteful leering,
ineffectual rags of
-modesty cries-
unfortunate beauty trapped among
-lechers-
pawn broker and hawker alike.

-Nobody’s Child -
gazes high UP , at the

The Ugly Duckling

...
                  Its
                voice,
            a rhyme,a
               charm,
               echo
               o f
              time
             forever
            gone , piercing into
            bulky stillness of night, crowned
by the solitude of silence, silhouettes
and shadows ,dancing under an umbel of
darkness, ever so present. slowly it
swims, on a crystal lake, gentle breeze
              ruffles its silky silver feathers,
---- a soothing touch of relief, a refreshing smile---------------
The mirror couldn’t hide, its bleeding
grief, an ending saga of ridicule, but
it reflected a courage to survive,
that even grey shades couldn’t conquer.
It was not just a reflection ,but an
            image of its reality,
            veiled
              under
               a soul
                 hurt
                  but
             pure.Will
                she swim
                  out.

Smiles of a Summer Night

Radiating through violet shadows
resplendent rays of moonlit charm
Smiles of a summer night.

Velvet moss on pavement grey
elegant shimmer of crystal stream,
Radiating through violet shadows,

Maple adorning colors of Fall,
bedecking a world, still and calm,
resplendent rays of moonlit charm.

Butterflies engaged in spirited plays
Gently rings the memory bell, like
Smiles of a summer night.

Poetry Form - Cascade
** Cascade, a form created by Udit Bhatia, is all about receptiveness, but in a
smooth cascading way like a waterfall. The poem does not have any rhyme scheme;
therefore, the layout is simple. Say the first verse has three lines. Line one of verse
one becomes the last line of verse two. To follow in suit, the second line of verse
one becomes the last line of verse three. The third line of verse one now becomes
the last line of verse four, the last stanza of the poem. See the structure example
below:
a/b/c, d/e/A, f/g/B, h/i/C
To make the Cascade an even longer poem, use more lines in verse one. For
example, if verse one has 6
lines, the poem must have seven stanzas so that each line of verse one is reused as
a refrain in each following stanza (a cascading effect).

(Since there's no option for Cascade in the Form drop drown I chose Free Verse)

Colors of Love,Strewn Across the Sky

..
                                         Gliding down
                                 the rainbow, into an
ocean of love, sprinkling vibrant hues
of smiles... immersed in blends of joyful red and
orange wrapped by a lively Indigo embossed
in whispering moments, to be cherished for
           for a lifetime.... mirroring each
         essence of genuine emotions, bubbling
        with unfaltering hope, waiting for
amber rays to stir blue and
      violet clouds, erasing very hint
    of grey and, an exquisite
   spectacle of timeless rhapsody

                                                          shall I
                                                      gift thee, O
                                                             tell me please
                                                               shall I borrow

down the sky and embroider it

shall I capture the glow that
your smile reflects back on my face?
Let me know how to wrap in colour. .

Crying In Solitude (Monchielle)

Crying in solitude
Dying helpless timber
Glinting blades, iron teeth
Devoured green covers
Barren land - sandy sheet

Crying in solitude
Homeless feathery lives
Angry gunshots follow
Tired wings finds no lair
Uncertain tomorrow

Crying in solitude
Bleeding victimized calf
Atlatl aim another food
Diminishing species
Screams snatched motherhood

Crying in solitude
Crushed delicate blossoms
Concrete monsters strangle
Anguished mother nature
Fading every angle.

Nightfall

Soft
lights blink
underneath
shaded starry
sky

swift
glowing
firefly
quietly passes
by

Birds
chirps sweet
lullaby,
sway to world of
dreams.

Dying Nation

Dying Nation

Anguished, frustrated
Cowering Inside,
Trapped in cobweb
Nation's life.

Disentangle, escape
Tightening grip,
Handcuffed by
Society's whip.

Hypocrats, Scandals
Stymieing progress,
Repressed opinion
Honesty undressed.

Bomb-Blast, massacres
Breaking events,
Delighted vultures
Hunger content.

What's My Fault?

Hollow faith caress bruised esteem
scars hidden underneath the seam
night reverberate silent screams
aborted dreams,aborted dreams

fractured by lustful invasion
modesty lies among treason
Why victims are pinned as reason?
unfold questions, unfold questions.

drenched in shame, locked in guilty vault
she gulps down his ruthless assault
striving for answers, 'What's my fault?'
When life will halt, when life will halt?

Poetry Type - Monotetra
The monotetra is a new poetic form developed by Michael Walker. Each stanza contains four
lines in monorhyme. Each line is in tetrameter (four metrical feet) for a total of eight
syllables. What makes the monotetra so powerful as a poetic form, is that the last line
contains two metrical feet, repeated. It can have as few as one or two stanzas, or as many
as desired.

Beautiful Morn

Yawing sunshine
Crowns horizon,
Bees humming
Delicate blossoms,

Floating billows
Orange hue,
Swaying groves
Sprinkling dew,

Vibrant butterflies
fluttering by,
Chirping birds
Soaring high,

Azure crystals
Shimmering display,
Beautiful morn
Promising day.
