Kulilisi

By George P. Lumayag
https://georgelumayag.weebly.com/

Silent twilight like the darkest forest in the southeast
Covered with giant trees and surrounded by huge cliffs;
Sad natives in the valley mourned and cried in vain;
The conscious thoughts believed such coffin would hear
The Kulilisi master as god of prose and poetry,
And he smartly horned the rule with brilliant sounds,
With his handkerchief like a paper plane - landed to start the game.

Then, he rendered the riddle as scrabble-puzzled words;
A wrong try made the fruitless poet to recite
Kulilisi free-verses and poetry of any poetical type;
Then, the unproductive received a gift certificate.

Young and old heard, women and men desired
The title as the Kulilisi Prince and Princess of the Night
So the master stepped forward and riddled the rest;
Then, waited a correct or wrong try from the poets.

Successful dreamers would still occupy the witty floor
And could still enjoy the sweet phrases like Metaphors;
Then, the master of words still riddled a squad of dreamers
And he waited the correct answer and hyperbolically staged the verdict;
Kulilisi ended and the successful poets recited
The undying witty words spoken in figurative language.

A Journey of Love At the Sea

By George P. Lumayag
https://georgelumayag.weebly.com/

“Come walk with me
To a journey at the sea”.

Where gentle wind blows a flower
Caring the smiling petals of May.

Where waves strike against the sand
Polishing the black pebbles to shine;
Such swaying pebbles carpet the shells
And hide treasures in the sand.

The summer breeze, like a soft caress
Of happy petals laying without delay,
Like the mangrove tree whispers softly
To the quiet flower of May.

A journey at the sea of summer day
The gentle breeze aspires lofty dreams...
And makes her petals to sway…
Then, say, “My love for you is a journey.”

What

By George P. Lumayag
https://georgelumayag.weebly.com

i want to play a guitar
but it has only four strings
and it’s useless to play on it
because harmony is missing.

i want to utter the words
but i have no knowledge,
i have the newly coined words, and it’s neologism
without meaning for someone’s mind.

i want to engage in painting
that i aim to draw a lady,
but i’m confused in sketching
because i have no canvas to be painted.

i want to portray it in the sky,
to write it in the ocean, to sketch it in the valley,
to give light the doom, and to talk to the rain
that i have something to say….

Black Screen

By George P. Lumayag
https://georgelumayag.weebly.com/

You’re on board with LED lights,
You’re guided with pure lights.

Sometimes, you’re so hot on board,
Like a capacitor of a motherboard.

What you need is pure resistance,
Like a resistor to resist your hotness for instance.

If you cannot resist your temper,
Your logic turns to a wave of full black anger.

Don’t wait for a black LED screen,
To conquer your system screen.

Native Words

By: George P. Lumayag
https://georgelumayag.weebly.com/

An online dashboard of hypertexts conquers attention
Through viewing, pressing letters,
Clicking hypertexts and laughing,
Like fish gill tenderly pumping
Then shouting when logging-in
And dreaming to code in the World Wide Web
Such life of crafting an interactive website.

In coding the dancing marquee texts
Should portray the spotlight of love
Using a computer or cell phones
In broadcasting ubiquitous opinions.

Dreaming to learn the style of John Milton;
The Miltonic rhymes and his poetical lines,
Those sound great with prolific verses.

Well, simple words you should learn
With characters and imagery on flight
The just or with soulful right.

Learn the lines and rethink of your words,
Or be well-versed to your native tongue,
Or be fruitful and meticulous to your native words.

Sunflower

By George P. Lumayag
https://georgelumayag.weebly.com/

Sunflower’s sweet life
Rain drops, wind blows, and sun shines
It waits the daylight!

Rain drops such desire
Wind blows it – to live with light
It loves the sunlight!

It waits the moonbeams
And bells ring on wedding day
It’s sunflower’s day!

Cat

By George P. Lumayag
https://georgelumayag.weebly.com/

Cat waked up early
    brought hook and line at the sea,
        and oared to hook fish.

It missed Geometry,
    then, science, prose and poetry,
        just to catch some fish.

It oared back for miles,
    went home and school with prime smile,
        'coz it hooked some fish.

Nora Aunor

By George P. Lumayag
https://georgelumayag.weebly.com

The Super Snow Moon lighted our bleeding hearts,
That we’re staging the National Arts Month in February;
It reminded us to the king like the powerful wolf
Who defaced the rules of artistry
That he butted his unverified thoughts
To the heroine’s genuine and overconfident performances of art
That surpassed beyond a national badge of honor.

Aunor’s highly praised body of work inspires us
And her humble legendary origin conquers the borders
Of music, television, film and theater.

In our digital age, her extraordinary achievements
In various international film festivals crown her
As world-class actress.

Her artistic and brilliant talents exceeded the elements
Of being the National Artist,
But a thunder and lightning of judgment
Seemed like a twist from a daylight to Super Blood Wolf Moon Eclipse,
That disgraced the discretionary power of the king,
Who included undesirable factors other than artistry
And unceremoniously deleted her honor.

The resounding assertions of the noble souls
May have figuratively incarnated the national icon,
May have patriotically penned Nora Aunor’s magnificent works,
And may have glorified back the artistic contributions of a genius,
Who shall have been lionized for being...
The people’s National Artist!

Photography

By George P. Lumayag
https://georgelumayag.weebly.com/

There's a sunlight beyond the dark clouds;
There's a good harvest beyond hard work;
And there's a good sense beyond photography.

No matter what problems you may have;
Whatever frustrations you may feel.
Behind those problems, a sunlight of solutions
Would brightly guide your way.
Then, there you go… and take a selfie!

No matter how hard you’ve tried,
Whatever crops you’ve planted in the farm,
After all of sweaty burdens for months or years,
Bountiful harvests, you may have gained
In the mountain of Gold.
Then, there you go… and take a selfie!

No matter how hard you may take series of shots
Whatever views you may have tried,
Such worm’s eye, eye level and bird’s eye views,
The great shots could always show good sense
So, wherever you go... don’t miss a selfie!

Treasures In You

By George P. Lumayag
https://georgelumayag.weebly.com/

During the exploration period,
Treasures were the biggest routes of great explorers.

And, now, a treasure is the reason
Why I speak before you, Sharlaine on your debut.

It’s my pleasure to speak about treasures
That I wish you may have for a lifetime.

I have offered you a metaphorical jewelry box and a jar
For you to keep all your treasures.

Be open-minded, be compassionate, and loving
‘coz treasures are not only precious stones.

Try to consider good words
and sweet memories are also your timeless treasures.

You should share to all that such lofty reasons reside
To their minds, hearts and souls!

Happy 18th Birthday, Sharlaine!
