Rodgers Ja Brown Poem
You took my love
Gently in your hands
Like a butterfly;
Then you plucked off
One of the wings
And laughed as it flopped
Upon the ground.

Rodgers Ja Brown Poem
I have never seen a flower blush when I took it's hue
and held it there a prisoner captive to my view.
I have always heard the song that's in the autumn breeze
playing taps in harmony with the forest leaves.
I love the smell of rain that brings the springtime into bud
and swells my love of nature into a teeming flood.
I celebrate the cycle of the daytime into night
and find an equal blessing in the shadow and the light.
I've always felt affinity for all created things
and surrender to the pleasure that their beauty brings.
And though I could spent a lifetime sailing drops of dew
I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you.
I've often sat myself by gentle mountain streams
and overflowed the dams that were holding back my dreams.
I've breathed the scented forest on the mountainside
and washed away my sorrows in an evening ocean tide.
I've laid down in a meadow and debated with the moon
and spent some quiet moments on the surface of Neptune.
I got married to a zodiac with one of Saturn's rings
then spied a super nova and went on a cosmic fling.
I've run away to nebulae in galaxy brochures
and bathed in scenes of wonders on distant planet shores.
Every cosmos in creation could parade before my view
but I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you.
I've never seen a tree once withdraw it's shade
and deny a creature the comfort of its aid.
I've never seen any anger in the sun at noon
when it burns relentlessly on the desert dune.
At sunrise I take an oath to live with all my might
and reinforce my gratitude each and every night.
I could spend some hours riding on a crystal flake
drifting wildly in a gale mindless of my fate.
Many times I've been through trials of wind and rain and snow
then sentenced to the splendors that the seasons show.
And though I've searched throughout creation, I must say this is true
I've never seen a universe as beautiful as you.

Why you gassing dawg
Why you coming to my table without asking dawg
I know you hate me with a passion I ain't mad at y'all
Jealous and envy shall follow you
You stuck on my name tryna f*ck with it
But I'm a big number you ain't in my league
I know you f*ck with every classic in my catalog
And it go worth your business team think it's lootlove
Cashtime with my team I'm a big Fish
Money is a big thing I'm focused on
I don't need a green screen when I pull stunts
Cause when you the real thing niggas get touched
And it's Super unlocked
I don't give a f*ck about your number one spot
Corporate's sleeping on me need to set alarm clocks
Word to all workmates crossing my network guap
Big dreams since I was a little boy
I'm stressed, went to the medical school and dropped out
Middle finger to the press
Tried to give a f*ck but I ain't got a f*ck left
I'm blessed
Tried to be civil until I saw your Instagram page
But I was out on leave paving a road for bigger things
See when it rains it pours. I think we all need change
I show real love and respect to the real ones!

Rodgers Ja Brown Poem
These candles, our bodies, see how they burn
How many hours will they last--days, months, years?
Look at the warmth and comfort we can give to each other or to anything that comes close.
One of the components of lasting art is a spirit flame within the created
That can ignite inspiration and hope, and survive time's ways

Rodgers Ja Brown Poem
I slowly trusted you…
I shared the depths of my heart and soul with you…
You allowed me to attach to you …
Like a newborn fawn…to it’s mother…
I drank deeply from your heart of love, tenderness, gentleness, kindness and acceptance…
You covered me with a blanket of grace after the shame of my childhood…
I swam in the pools of your sea moss eyes…
I delighted in the deep desires you awakened in me…
I shared the depth of my struggles with you...
And then when my pain and chaos of longing was too much…
I attempted to snuff out the candle…
The candle in the wind would not be blown out…
Left in the shadow…was the pain of awakening to life again…
But you were gone…you abandoned me…you blamed me…you labeled me…you betrayed me…
The blanket of grace was ripped off my naked body…and replaced with shame and pain of loss….
My mental health was not your concern …you traded your heart of love for a heart of fear…
You did not know me…you did not love me….you died…

Rodgers Ja Brown Poem
You are the omega of my heart
the foundation of my conception of love
When i think of what a black woman should be
its you that i first think of
You will never fully understand
how deeply my heart feels for you
I worry that we'll grow apart
and i'll end up losing you
You bring me to climax without sex
and You do it all with regal grace
You are my heart in human form
a friend i could never replace.
In my heart i know there will never be a day
that i don't remember the times we share
You are my unconditional friend
Unconditional in it's truest sense
Always remember this from here to forever
nothing can come between us.

Like a black diamond
I shine ever so brightly
Like a black diamond
Brilliantly cut with pristine clarity
I am a rarity
Like a black diamond
I shine ever so brightly.

Rodgers Ja Brown Poem
I am always understated
My parents make me frustrated
Boys are stupid
I am bad at being Cupid
I always end up with a jerk
Usually when I get my perks
I walk around with my sassy perks
Then a guy that said holla
I'm like ; you got a dolla
He's like why?
So I can be a balla
that's why I need that Dolla
I ain't no fool
Cuz I go to school
I'm good
Even though I'm from the hood.

Rodgers Ja Brown Poem
If only for today...
Would you believe?
Not in a deity
Not in someone else
Not in some grand idea
But in yourself
We put faith in what is around us
But little of it finds a home
Within the depths of our soul
But there is one reality
Nothing is realer than you
Nobody ever knows you like you
Your deepest thoughts
Your greatest fears
What you see in the mirror
All uniquely personal
Language is imperfect
And something is lost when spoken
Be good to yourself
Be honest with yourself
Be the one you see in the mirror
Painted beautifully
With all your hopes and dreams
And no
You won't be some grand idea
You won't be someone else
You won't be some deity
For one day...
Would you believe...
In yourself?

Rodgers Ja Brown Poem
Lively words on tiptoes left,
Vanishing in the night.
In vain have I sought to find them,
Those precious prodigal words.
Did they slip away like mice
Through temples worn out by age?
Like jocks who rode the bench too long,
Have they quit for lack of play?
Or have they found me faithless,
Lusting after phrases
And daisy chains of impish words,
And in anger run away?
Fled they like southing swallows
Escaping Winter’s blight?
Will they come back to me one day
Like old Capistrano’s birds?
If a wordless king is a pauper;
And a well-spoken peasant rich;
And words are the gems we offer
To who the ones we love,
Am I then to be destitute
When I wear the crown of years?
For if my wealth of words is gone,
I cannot beg at Heaven’s gate
