The Edge of Night

Such close relationship with death we keep,
As we embrace the nothingness of sleep.
Not careful enough for a fall so steep -
One moment awake, the next fast asleep.

A Goddess of forgotten time therein,
Who donned a crown of stars upon her head,
Constellations engraved on midnight skin,
The land of sleep, the land of halfway dead.

While some embrace the empress we call night
The mass extinguisher of any light,
Unhappy beings relish in their plight
Until the deep abyss swallows their fight.

Does this unexplored boundary exist
If this pull none remember nor resist?

Nocturnum

Nocturnum
We lie beneath the slowly waning moon, Her sharp shape emerging like a fine fang, Metamorphosed from the bright afternoon And now -- upon a thread, the night does hang. Our deepest, darkest desires are revealed -- They are vampires -- hellish creatures of night Like Satan within Lucifer concealed He was said to be quite a pretty sight. Let not the purging light of day within Your lace curtains and silk bed sheets of sin To mar your moonlit skin, your pallid skin. This bed welcomes our death like a coffin. Is it not a fair sentence for our crime? Lasting ‘til the bittersweet end of time.

Fade Out

Can you still taste the flavors of that apple you ate ten years ago
And hear the river nestling against the rocky embankment?
Or does that day no longer exist in your memory?
Have you already forgotten?

I guess inevitability made its way into your heart
And took the place of your emotions
Which you sent packing.

Did you even notice how they slipped out of your mind -
How they left this house empty?

Perhaps you needed to tidy up your home in order to make room for new things.
