Converging Daydreams

The laughter of a thousand years,
The tears of a thousand waterfalls,
Converge and reflect,
Rainbows of seven colors,
Raining on a misty morning,
only puddles in the street,
You sit by a warm fire,
Guessing when the rain will stop,
Building daydreams as you look outside,
Everything will bloom soon,
Violets will grow,
Catching butterflies,
Watching them fly away,
Swimming in cool blue streams,
Feeling the suns' warmth,
The daydreams of a thousand years,
Combined in one as I look outside,
The rain drawing out my soul,
Until I feel empty watching you,
You seem far away,
A blank yet peaceful face,
The rainbow emerges,
Far beyond our full sight,
The rain stops,
You still sit,
Beside a warm fire,
Reflecting on daydreams,
Past.

My Love Remains

My love remains,
Unwaivering in its commitment,
Unending in duration,
It remains.

I am not perfect,
Can you love me as I am?
No false expectations,
Without restrictions?

Did you lose faith?
Do you not believe?
There can be more,
If you open your heart.

I know you carry pain,
Deep inside of you,
As do I,
Does it define you?

Please don't give up,
It is not far,
To find me,
My love remains.

In the Fields

I can smell the fresh mint,
In the fields by the pond,
I can see your shining face,
Your hair bleached to blonde.
The water dancing on your skin,
As we swam the day away,
The clouds we watched passing by,
As we lay on our backs that day.
Nighttime again,
And the stars like jewels in the sky,
No sooner had we fallen asleep,
The night had passed us by.
Bright sunshine is cast into the room,
A new day had begun,
Already my mind was thinking,
What there had to be done.
I would watch you dance,
With a ribbon in your hair,
Your movements smooth and graceful,
As you twirled through the air.
It is in a dream world,
That we have become friends,
The world around us falls apart,
But our happiness never ends.
I hope the years will be kind,
When I have to leave this place,
But I will always remember,
The sweet smile on your face.
We have shared timeless youth,
In the fields by the pond,
I can see your shining face,
Your hair bleached to blonde.

Blanket of Denial

The wind is near,
I wrap myself ,
In a blanket of denial,
I cannot hear.
Gusts of anger,
Rage and pain,
Pushing existence,
Toward insane.
Cut then mend,
Mend then cut,
What is the meaning?
Give it up.
The wind is near,
Chill in the spine,
Holding onto,
This heart of mine.

Learn

To reach your hands to heaven,
And spiral to the sky,
To love what you've been given,
Up to the day you die.
To look upon a rainbow,
Or hear a newborns' coo,
To stand in springs' rainfall,
And smell the earth of new.
To touch the warmth of sand,
And feel it between your toes,
To see the budding flower,
And watch as it grows.
To greet each day with wonder,
And learn about yourself,
Love what you've been given,
That is the greatest wealth.

Into the Darkness

Into the darkness,
The heart craves,
The peace and warmth,
Into which it caves.

Coldness,
Feeling of despair,
The heart hungers,
Someone to care.

Starving,
For affection,
The heart forgets,
Its' protection.

Into the darkness,
The last beat taken,
The heart breaks,
Its' love forsaken.

Lighthouse

From lighthouse to lighthouse,
Guided by beacons of light,
Looking for warmth and comfort,
In the dark of night.
When all turns quiet,
You sail once again,
Leaving behind calm waters,
For those you cannot tame.

Understanding

You see a small figure,
Sitting by the window,
Just waiting for someone,
Just looking out the window,
You hear a sigh,
And see a tear trickle,
Down a weathered face,
Feeling strangely propelled,
Toward the figure,
You stand quietly,
Until she knows of your presence,
She smiles a wilted smile,
As if disappointed in who is
Standing beside her,
She says in a low voice,
'' I thought maybe it was...''
She looks out the window,
With a far away look,
Then she reaches out,
And squeezes your hand,
You sit down and listen,
As she begins to tell you stories,
She has a sparkle in her eyes,
Sitting by the window,
She was waiting for someone,
To listen and be with her,
Someone understanding.

A Nation

When all the confusion stops,
And the razor sharp edge becomes dull,
There is a kind of tranquility,
A peaceful kind of lull.
The creators wand,
Waves smoothly in the air,
Choosing what is to be changed,
Giving life to places once bare.
The leaders remain troubled,
The followers have no direction,
They can only wait it out,
Until the next election.
Look into the eyes of the people,
You'll see the pain and fear,
And hundreds dying in the wars,
Each throwing a poisoned spear.
The laughter has long since been gone,
And the suffering has taken its toll,
And they have finally given back,
The humanity that they stole.
Look into the skies,
And you'll see a darkened cloud,
It represents a fighting nation,
A nation that once was proud.

When Everything Can Wait

Flying over mountains,
Peaks covered in snow,
Mix with clouds of white,
Green patches add perspective,
We fly over oceans,
Blue and reflective,
Travelled by many ships,
Surviving the many storms,
By night the city lights shine,
Bright and welcoming,
Almost intimidating,
Yet we fly home,
To the place of skyscrapers,
Monuments and business,
Where people run to climb stairs,
And nothing can wait,
We may go back to the quiet sanctuary,
When all falls apart,
And everything becomes strained,
When everything can wait.
