Bye May

Here Lays May
Who was on her way
To a little old bar,
She was hit by a car.

Cherry Blossom

A wonderful sight to behold.
Your grandeur is more
Than meets the eye.

From absolutely spectacular bloom
Until you've fallen in grace
Meeting earth, withering
Like snow with an ebb
And flow of gentle breezes.

Symbolising life;
Powerful, exhilarating, sublime
Yet short lived.
Reminding us how brief our lives are.

Sweet cherry blossom
Bringing hope,
Also dreams.
Endless opportunities bursting
Foreseeing for future reference.

Remembering loved ones
Showing life's beauty
Promising starting something new
Whilst shedding what's old.

Blessed Sakura
After all, we are you.

Six-Word Couplet Series Encore

Make a wish
Raising the bar
A shooting star

The truth
The truth untold
Watch it unfold

Wings
Wanting to fly
In the sky

Sky's the limit
Dreams don't diminish
Pushing to finish

Growth
My lost tooth
Symbolising my youth

Love
Far from platonic
More than euphoric

Don'T Play a Dirge, When I'M No Longer

Don't play a dirge, when I'm no longer
Cozy dreams and fickle nights we used to ponder
Shut down the roads; close off that phone,
For I am no more.
Hold not a vigil, even though we're really prone

Rather, just say a few happy things,
A poem or two that are far from gloom
With a few friends and then lay under the stars
Where you'll remember me, as the anchor to your heart
Like the moon always holds the stars.

My everlasting North, my lighthouse
You are the anchor to my soul
Remember me for my smiles like the calm in the night
And not for my hurt and anger like those raging tempests

Although I may seem far
Look at the night sky, you see our star
Remember that I'll be near
Even though I won't be here.

Like that simple kiss in December
That we always seem to remember
My heart knows not of extravagant things.
So light a candle in my memory, only one.

Though cozy dreams and fickle nights we used to ponder.
Don't play a dirge, when I'm more longer.

A Case of You

I still have a case of you,
Now you've got me in two.

Slipping through my veins,
You've got me steadily in chains.

Because of you, I'm feeling blue.

Love, Whose Will Hasn'T Shaken

Love, whose will hasn't shaken
Leaving all in your path blazing
Not a victim, yet this heart has been taken.
An infinite wonder which's simply amazing.

Seems that I recall your fragrance.
Say I'm crazy, well we're both insane
Desiring has me brimming with impatience
A fatal attraction nearing us to pain.

Full of hurt, love isn't seemingly superb.
Inducing me with you touch like a masseuse
You caught my heart, love is not just a verb.
Reeling me with your eyes, you seduce

This love forbidden, like the sweetest taboo
Safeguard my heart as I bid adieu.

Thick As Thieves

It has become your personal mission
To ensure my admission.
Your insistances are my pet peeves,
We happen to be as thick as thieves.

Certainly not dumb and dumber,
Our summer nights are far from a bummer.
Your presence need not to be grand,
Just like the simple act of taking your hand.

Moments in time
That often felt sublime.
They are frozen in a photograph,
I need not lie, I can take a polygraph.

Known each other since the start of our youth,
Remember when I lost my first tooth.
Although the road may seem to bend,
Always know that you'll be my friend.

Do You Remember

Twenty years on and she still remembers.
The pain still fresh in her mind.
That love that seemed sweet.
Something that made her blind.

A call in the evening, was when she heard.
A plea for him to claim his son
That's when she got the word.
Now she knew he wasn't the one.

Lies and denials left his lips
Betrayal at it's best
This wasn't worth fighting for anymore.
Unfortunately this was no test.

Excuses no more, she up and left
She was done. No longer involved.
Her heart could take it no longer.
Wasn't something that could be resolved.

Tell your friends that you're to blame,
You should explain
Things would never be the same
Alhough she never did complain.

Twenty years, now he's back
Although she isn't mad
Second chance, no to that.
Remembering just makes her sad.

Do you remember,
What you meant to her?
What you were to her?
Because she still does.

Something New

If I knew that going to my aunt's place
Would end up with me on a wild goose chase
On a hunt for that prized necklace
She lost because she was reckless,
I wouldn’t have bothered coming at all.
Grandfather’s picture hung up on wall
Looking down at us
If he were still alive, he’d make a fuss.
It was a gift from him, after all.
Get out of the house, they said.
It can be a new adventure, they pled.
We are they now? They fled.
Those lying, conniving chickens,
Could’ve finished A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens
This is definitely something new
From my typical routine that speaks true.
Obviously not by turning her house topsy turvy
Although I don’t feel the slightest bit nervy.
Something new? Mom would definitely have a laugh
Although she’d say that I’ve had more than that of a giraffe.

My Change

I never knew how it felt to be strong;
when I was weak
To smile when life felt bleak
How difficult it is to love yourself
When you're full of self hate
There was nothing that changed the scene
By then, there wasn't a Beyond The Scene

Before there was a spark of light,
All there was, was a blanket of darkness
Surrounding me all the time
That, unfortunately was my plight.
A world full of hopelessness;
not knowing how to carry on
That was my life.

You tend to not appreciate love
When you don't see the hate
Then the meaning of a smile and laughter
Is long forgotten
What was once your heart is now abate.

I know now of strength and courage,
To fight to learn things right.
To pick yourself up when dealt with blows
To hold your head up high and fight
It's no picture of a mirage.

Change starts from within.
I was someone I didn't like,
I was a lost soul and utterly defeated.
I'm still finding myself
But I'm starting to be someone I like.
