The Question On the Mountain

It is true.
Bright and clear.
As sky blue.
Love, you are my keystone.
Forever you will be
My light when I'm alone.
A bond no force can break.
Love will always conquer.
A base no quake can shake.
My heart drips and runs like melting wax,
Comfortable beside the stone hearth.
We play some classical music tracks.
The winter sky is blue up above.
Below is the ground covered in pearl.
Nature sings songs of holiday love.
Love's always been there for all to see.
"Let me ask you on this mountain top,
Will you take my hand and marry me?" 7/29/2021 "3-6-9" Poem Emile J. Pinet

Mercedes Benz

Mercedes Benz

A sinkhole swallowed my friend.
Thankfully, my house was still around the bend.
At least to remember, I need not travel far.
I hope my insurance covers this brand new car.

A Picturesque Winter

Field and forest lay painted pearly white.
Nature unravels her artistic side.
Angels descend to view the peaceful sight.
Trees glisten with a smile full of pride.
Snow capped meadows welcome and do not chide.
The winter sun calls out for none to hide.
Peaceful people come out to laugh and play.
Cocoa and s'mores are made by the fire.
Majestic mountains host skiing all day.
In peace reigns this wintery empire.
Skate the lakes whose ice does not expire.
Hockey games are drawn down to the wire.
Fowl fly the sky; deer roam the forest floor.
Yak dwell with monks on the high mountain top.
Love highlights the mistletoe evermore.
Snowmen come to life, no one tells them: stop.
Wolves become puppies, aggression they drop.
Rabbits fear them not. They share the same spot.
Observe the snap shot of this winter land.
May this time of peace on earth stand so grand.

Last Night

The snow started early in the morning.
Last night's darkness guaranteed a miserable day.
By night the land was covered with winter's décor adorning.

Huddled we by the fire as winter raged with scorning.
Last night's freezing air told us all we needed to say.
The snow started early in the morning.

The flowers of forest and field wailed in mourning.
Last night's frozen ground allowed the demons out to play.
By night the land was covered with winter's décor adorning.

"Seek ye warmth, and keep ye well" the icy wind was warning.
Last night's drop in temperature unleashed evil in the worst way.
The snow started early in the morning.

From dawn till dusk the storm revealed a new creation roaring.
Last night is responsible for the results of today.
By night the land was covered with winter's décor adorning.

In death there is life aborning.
Last night was yesterday.
The snow started early in the morning.
By night the land was covered with winter's décor adorning.

Mary's Lamb

I took a girl named Mary to be my bride.
She always had a lamb by her side.
It followed her to and fro.
Where she went, it did go.
She took off and left the lamb at my side.

Western Front

The night was not so silent, not for the soldiers at Bastogne.
'T was just before Christmas when they had to fight surrounded and alone.
"The crossroads cannot fall, " was the order to be upheld.
The winter owned the elements, but courage in hearts held.
"Nuts!" replied the commander, when he was demanded to surrender.
Even today, December '44 is etched in the things we remember.
The US, Belgium, and Luxembourg remember this together.

Roses of Love and Death

I saw the roses before they wilted.
But I didn't see the weeds that would leave them strangled.
The bucket of poison, oh how you spilled it.
Our dear labor of love, you mercilessly mangled.

After your cruel departure the flowers of romance did hang down.
The insects now prey upon a beauty now worn and only sad stories are told.
The weight of love's betrayal bends the roses' beauty and steals their crown.
When it came to you, I should have heeded the roses of old.

The roses were our celestial love.
Their roots, I thought they meant our love was forever in the ground.
On those moments in the garden, I thought the angels sang above.
Forever I thought our love and the garden would abound.

The darlings we planted now lay tattered and torn.
Please, tell me why you had to spill my blood upon each and every thorn?

Conversations At Night

Hello There,

It's me again;
Still calling up from the darkness without a single friend.
You say you're doing well?
I am happy for you.
Will I return to life again?
I don't know; only time can tell.

Hello There,

Ghosts in my halls.
Spirits of a better life --
Golden ages pass as eternity calls.

Hello There,

You shadows dancing on my walls,
Celebrating memories of bliss.
Please continue longer so my wounded heart can capture memories of this.

Hello There,

Yes, hello there; I am dying slowly.
Do you know?
Do you care?

Hello There,

You silent night.
Blanket me; I need my sleep, to handle a world in sin so deep.
Shelter me from the evil that lurks behind the shadows.
Keep me in the light of the pale moon that calms us as we sleep.

Haiku For the Seasons

Year to year they come.
The seasons dictate the times.
The first comes with force.
Bitter is his wrath.
Beautiful, yet tough, is he.
Winter binds free men.
She's meek and mild.
Her arrival is welcome.
Spring sets free bound men.
Men stand to meet her.
Though kind, wicked can she be.
Summer frees and binds.
The last one appears.
He will be kind, then grow cold.
Fall resets the clock.
Every day we rise.
One year comes; another goes.
Seasons show the change.

Ash and Blood

First they bombarded the shore; but that was not enough.
Clever Kuribayashi knew how to fight.
Those storming the island did not expect a battle so rough.
Now we will see if Kuribayashi was right.
Guns battering the island made little stir.
For entrenched beneath the soil the enemy soldiers were.
In the night and out of the ground the enemy came.
It was then the marines knew this island would not be the same.
Under the force of the Imperial Empire all of Asia shook.
The Land of the Rising Sun has her greedy politicians to blame.
That's why after this war, the same she shall not look.

On Bloody Iwo the hearts of men grew colder and colder.
Will we be left standing? Our foe is tough and this island belongs to her.
Upon this place of ash and blood two empires fought; who really is to blame?
Guns, blades, and vehicles of war caused many to go down in flame.
These events you will now hear about only in a documentary or a book.
But quiet graves and scarred memories still remain.
Put out now is the hell fire, and gone is all it took.
