Rise and Fall

Criminal
waste,
critical mass
materialized warfare
city dumps pile-up and fall
burnt offerings amid
clumps of Caesar salad.
Roman Empires of crud
that roam no more.

Walmart still spills over,
parachutes hung from pot-belly roofs;
air-drops from a plastic heaven.
A few old men
are found asleep at the wheel
of long buried cars.

Homeless are the pigeons
that carry a crusty canker
from pit to heap,
pitiful the pawing fingers
that pounce now upon
the once new branded,
yet more paltry
the poached mounds
of porch-pirates,
their petty ill-gottens
all unpacked alike as empty nests.

When the sooty dark
fumes and blankets,
then rust will clang
in the yawping mouths
of tin-cans,
aluminum bells that clatter.
Then the rodents,
the red-eyed night-shifters
will comb through the tangled beards
of threadbare dreams.

Then withal,
just as the ditched dross have fallen,
dregs shall rise again.

Journey

Just as free to be in the chill
Of distant waves of air forsake
Up into the alone for thrill
Raw dampish hills to climb and leap
Near only other sound --the break
Ending miles to go before any sleep
Yawping distant song birds spill

Eager
        wacky
               feisty
                      sabotaging

pachisi

sagenesses by,

                            cry DADA—

 sanguinely,
               cum
                  pacific
                          fables,

vain to hachured mean odiums'
mind.

Yawping,
            let idiotisms
                            to habitual
palaver
Xyster!

{Method for a mathematical
poetry connection:
•Choose the word length of the
poem if wished.
•Generate that many random
numbers using range 1-26
(letters in alphabet)
•Choose words such that each
has the number of letters of
one random number.
•The letter beginning the word
should be the number of its
place in the alphabet.
•Cast out the 9s on large
numbers, e.g., 26 is 6+2=8.
Few Z-words of 26 letters.
•Make the poem in the order
the random numbers were
generated or scramble them as
pleases.
•Voila. }

Seraphic Fate

She lingers under the lemon tree
Savoring pungent disappointment
Eager to soar with the honey bee
Far from the burden of bereavement

Sinew and bone rattle with such great force
Yawping at the void till the voice grows hoarse
Consciousness gasps at such vulgar discourse
She's cracking the code so she'll trace the source

Cloistering thoughts occupy her mind
Vexing her pristine angelic face
Honest souls prove treacherous to find
Scrambling demons still give her chase

She wants it all when she's getting a slice
Passionate use of a learning device
She's combing the floor in search of the splice
For earning her way into paradise

If justice rules this vast universe
All miracles would favor her quest
I have little doubt she will traverse
Stars shall hold her divinely caressed

She's dancing languidly upon sunbeams
Covertly hiding from all of her dreams
Abandoning most of those petty schemes
Twisting her tortured soul to such extremes

Spellbound by those gleaming jewels azure
Enraptured beyond mundane desire
Proud to befriend a spirit so pure
Precious fuel feeding creative fire

Untitled #50 / a Shimmering Arc of Whiteness

A shimmering arc of whiteness spreads its
eagle wings, overarching and embracing
the sky, soaring into the sunset
If you were not perfect, I would
run after you, down to the seashore, splashing,
yawping to the tops of heaven till breathless,
“TAKE AWAY MY DESIRES!”
