Rules:

1. Never forget who left you.
2. Never respond immediately.

Premium Member A Sovereign Nation With Nothing To Win

Unfortunately, the Haitian people have everything to lose
They are very fragile, humiliated, vilified, and abused
My people have been suffering for years, for centuries
On the pavement, in the streets, in the harbor and on the high seas.

Our people, our brothers and sisters!
Their wicked leaders once in power, the liars
Change all plans to the detriment of the poor
Who are quickly forgotten in the filthy cans
Their spleen, sweat and blood flow are floating in the sewers
They are despised by hens,
By guinea fowls, by roosters, and all types of demons
It was yesterday that they were applauding like dummies,
Cheering, hoping to be awarded with crumbs and pennies.

These zealous brothers are on fire, they are now deaf and crazy
at the end. Even patience has borders and boundaries
Where greedy, covetous and corrupt officials behave like evil yeasts.

Premium Member 'o Hi o' - for contest, provided i win

Quicksand has not been on my mind
for decades, neither have brass knuckles

a pillow by any other name is a bureaucrat’s sword
pensive, dormant even in elevator shaft #11

o, frustration, o the itch to do it all now
                     O, ambivalence, o, vacillation

                 O, marination, o intimation, O cruise vacation
                      O litigation, o fraternization, o Hi o

(Did I win the prize? I hope so. Do you think
I can possibly be writing for pleasure?)

O, Portia, where art thou now?

DIE, CRY OR WIN

We will all die, we will all cry, we will all win if we conquer sin.
Sin can come in many forms, it can lead us to places that make us feel bad and sad, it can take hold of all of our life, and make us live in a negative life.
We can win and repent, we can choose to live a life that wins with no sin.
We will all fall, like Jesus did, but we can all choose to get up and continue on.
Life will lead us to many places, we may suffer, we may have all we need, we may just be getting tested to see if we are truly good or bad.
May we all keep going, never give up, forgive, love and always choose life.
For God told us of the struggles we will have, the choices between good and bad.
Lifting prayers to God, today and always.

Against cold to win

T’is the July cold
Carried into August
A hot cup of tea’s sold
For salvation promised

Shivers down the spine
Hairs on forearms stand
To be sheltered just fine
Mark of a strong brand

I sway in the wind
Puckered skin
Collared coat pinned
Against cold to win

You can win in this lifetime.

You can win in this lifetime;
don’t let doubt speak louder.
 Every scar you carry
is proof that you made it through the fire.
 Fall down seven times,
stand up with a new kind of power.
The lowest times taught you
 how to climb even higher.
Your name wasn’t written
to be a footnote or a lie.
Keep going, keep growing,
and let your art set you on fire.
You can win in this lifetime
– start by believing, then go higher.

TRT boost to win war

Hegseth whose wits seem to wear out in haste,
Wants his war boys to take TRT test
To make them fighting fit
Faced with Gulf War defeat,
And as correlation
Is not quite causation,
If troop’s T levels slip,
Blame undue stress, low sleep,
Beware, T-sterones win no wars at best.

Note: US secretary of war, Pete Hegseth, seems out of ideas as Gulf War is in its fifth month, as Trump and his team is losing its steam. He wants his troops to take testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Crazy as the idea is he seems to have drawn inspiration from Odysseus who chewed on raw animal testicles, and yet the Trojan war dragged on for ten long years. He only won by deceit. Would Iran oblige?

Premium Member The Americans Will Not Win the Cup

Americans won't be competing for the World Cup anymore.
The boys from Belgium sent them right out the door.
The red, white, and blue, were done in by the red, yellow, and black.
The Belgians sported a very potent offensive attack.
Yes, the final score was Belgium 4, USA 1.
The home grown guys were certainly undone.
Some American soccer fans may be shedding tears.
Their team has to wait for another four years.

Premium Member Dear Cleveland, Its Was Just A Fantasy, Not The Real Thing

Three, four, or six

Which one will fix

And even the eastern final score

Making sure

New York will advance

In the best of seven dance

No longer the higher seed

Knicks now need

To win away

For anyone to say

Bring on the west

Who they select as the best

Spurs or Thunder

Visitors no longer wonder

Were they going to blunder

Fumble

Turn humble

Tumble

Then crumble

Instead

‘They stole a win,’ skyscraper islanders said

Message sent

Time spent

Giving the impression

A ‘how did they do that’ confession

About simple mistakes messing

Quite a lesson

Playoffs are here

And so is the post-game cheer

Get near

Toast with beer

We are almost here

Champion is going to be crowned

Creating celebration all over their NBA town

Premium Member The Brave Yankee

We said ‘goodbye John’ today

What should we say

A Brave Yankee he was

Creating buzz

Announcing home runs in the air

Using a style entertaining, sparking flair

Turning a routine afternoon affair

Around

Toasting Pinstripe town

Even if the team was down

Jeter, Rodriguez and Judge

Success never budged

Standing strong

Waiting for the Liza and Frank Song

Written by Kandor and Ebb

Famous on Broadway many said

But giving a Sterling performance

Made everyone sing and dance

Line up had the creative look

Radio listening enjoying the personal hook

Seemed written in the playbill book

Holy Cow!

Is where he is now

Hearing how bout that

When at bat

He gets the call

Joining Phil and Mel watching baseball

Premium Member Unfair

Overflowing from my bank
The unwelcome water seeping.
To and fro and lurking still
Into my soul it's creeping.

Scourge this, be damned to you
I have never asked this claim.
I live my life
Provide for many, leave me just the same.

I watch over babes, provide sustenance too,
Caring and warmth and love.
Their thoughts and actions rebound to me.
The grandest of God above.

Be gone you scourge that is mine,
Be gone you pestilence now!
I will fight, I will win, cast you aside,
And take no heed, no how.

All have joined and all will love
For all that I will give.
I never stop to offer more
and that is why I live.

I live by this, from all of you
To keep my spirits clear.
With all of you around me,
You give me strength...

I have no fear.

Premium Member What Happened Two Hundred Fifty Years Ago? A Small Win?

Did the Yankees win?

Without sin

Challenging monarchy rule

Characterizing King as a fool

Escaping angry courts

Exploring adventurous ports

They came to a new world

Searching for patriotic pearls

Combatting rag tag war

Against red coated boars

Who thought they knew best

Putting rebellious subjects under arrest

Charging them for throwing tea

Into the Boston Harbor Sea

Defined as freedom of speech

Protest reached

Many others

American brothers

Wanting representation when taxed

Stating facts

Until the royals surrendered

Premium Member witch hypnotizes the crowd for a win

Bewitching winsome witch played to the Halloween crowd
Many old wizards cheered for her to win, long and hard
Gliding past the festivities was a huge October cloud
Intrigued and mesmerized thanks to her spell, he paused and bowed.
