Whirlwinds,
Teaching me faith,
Whirlwinds,
Trying to make me fear,
But rather I hear,
My Father in his tool shed,
Making hungry fed,
Making naked clothed,
Reversing status roles,
Saving every soul,
Whirlwinds,
Teaching me faith,
Thoughts race,
As I realize they are a sign of the coming Sun,
Who worships the Son,
Whirlwinds,
Portending of blessings I never thought possible,
Whirlwinds,
Thank you!!!!!

Winter roars back,
May slips from view,
April has lost its anchor
in these storm tossed sky’s.
Songbirds scrabble under
canopies still too thin
for cover.
None look up but huddle
in puffer jackets recently stowed.
It snowed all day,
now the wind is shoveling daffodils
out of the soggy earth.
Mice nibble roots
brought up from old larders.
House cats glare from frosted windows,
bare feet wrap themselves in wooly
Christmas gifts.
When May arrives it will find us
defending slowly melting igloos.
Water is filtered through strong drink.
Fortunately, we have almanacs
and long range forecasts
so the present need for handmade arks
may not be necessary.

You've got to put down your storm
before you can lay grace to mine.
Two whirlwinds colliding
do not negate each other.
It doubles their strength and size...
A flesh ripping category five-plus.
Almost nothing left behind
but a pair of ruby slippers
and splintered hearts on the pyre.

O Whirlwinds blowing whispers of wisdom,
storm the stage of sin-laden stardom;
Fling famous fools out fictitious freedom...
and banish them from beautiful boredom.
O whirlwinds bereft of echoes of errors,
tear down the twin towers of all terrors.
Remove the masks that mar mortal mirrors...
Do not exempt empty hearted emperors.
O whirlwinds that spurs swift sparrows,
shake off the shackles of shoe-less shadows...
Arouse the avengers with your arrows
till the downtrodden sees terrific tomorrows.

Little dust devils, they twist and shout and spin out of control
Dancing across the desert floor, taking dust and dirt into the air
Where they will land, only God knows
