What You See Is What You Get Poems | Examples

Hear ye

To be safe is to cozy up with your past,
Like that old sweater you can’t throw away—a bit frayed, but a blast!

What you see is what you get—
A masterpiece of chaos, like a cat's hairball at your feet,
Born from the brilliant art of dodging responsibility,
And a grand delusion that mistakes are just "creative beats.”

To love is to pretend you care, oh dear,
For something outside yourself—like that plant you forgot to water, I fear.
Yes, most religions have turned this into a thriving market,
Selling “selflessness” like it's the latest fashion—what a racket!

Stained with the colors of thought and wishful dreams,
Dulled by contemplating cultures—you know, the usual schemes.
And if you ponder long enough, who knows?
The future might just wink at you—but only if it shows!

But man—oh, what man dares to take a peek,
At his own quirky quirks, his blunders, and, let’s face it, his cheek?

He is king at heart, ruling with a laugh,
In this comedy of life, where we all play our part—just look at the staff!

I AM WHO I AM

I DON'T PRETEND TO BE SOMEONE ELSE, AND I DON'T WANT TO BE SOMEONE ELSE. I AM ME.

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET.

MY FACE, MY BODY, MY CARISMA, MY TALENTS, AND MY HEART, ALL MAKE ME WHO I AM.

I AM WHO I AM.

Golden Heart

A golden heart painted in life,
Who always does his best, thrice.
With grace and kindness, he extends his hand,
A heart so noble, in every way so grand.

Like brushstrokes of warmth on a canvas so wide,
He colors the world, with care as his stride.
Not for perfection, nor for applause,
But for the quiet joy the heart longs.

His feelings are tender, fair, and sincere,
What you see is what you get, crystal clear.
He gives without asking, authentic and true,
No need for disguise, his heart shines through.

Even in his humor, his precious shield,
His beauty is delicately revealed.
He can’t hide what’s in his blood and bones.
He just overflows with golden tones.

Premium Member The Prismatic Self

Caressing the floral frame, I see reflecting in my eyes
A question of perspective, of purpose, of the prize.
Am I looking to gain favour? Do I desire to impress?
Is my motive to spread joy with the topics I address?

It's true. I would be lying to say that in my heart
The virtual trophy doesn't matter, what does is taking part.
After all, I too am human and it disappoints me so
When my little contribution fails to give a glow...

A flash in the reflection, like a light bulb thought
The reason why my ink reveals things I've been taught...
To be a source of inspiration is no sinful desire.
Ego is essential for us each to build our fire.

Our works are so much more than a hobby to pass time.
We can offer comfort. It could be someone's lifeline.
If we encourage others to find the strength to face the rain,
Generate positivity, then our efforts aren't in vain.

What you see is what you get with my little rhymes.
My poems don't require you to read between the lines.
For the first time, I can smile at the reflection I can see.
I'm authentic. I am real. My poetry is me!

Premium Member Trolls, Bots and Spidered Webs

Through false truth, the Rus reclaims hegemony,
Farming trolls to be enrolled,
'Neath bridges, clowns, see enemies,
Puking riddles on those tolled.

Then the bots deliver the hurl,
Regurgitate into the net,
Till truth is common as a pearl,
Yet what you see is what you get.

Spidered webs entangle yonder,
The language largely modeled,
And artificial minds are left to ponder,
Which words are fiddle-faddle.

Defrosted wars are flooding fields,
Entrenching fact with fiction,
In cyber realms, we've little shields,
To counter eastern malediction.

Folly finds that fear is fruitless,
Beware tourneys of tyranny,
Cavorted by the truth-less and ruthless,
Pretending reality's but conspiracy.

UNTITLED

So let me reintroduce myself as the poetic samurai as I cut through the tragic of life
As humanity embraces it's inner beast ,
And we became monsters of our own making

What you see is what you get ! Life is an illusion
And to see through the lenses of life you need a covenant eye

For all we see in this life is the evil that lives in the heart of men As brother guns down brothers
Our sisters seeking for money pleasure from these diabetes over grown men as boy friend so they diabetic income is insufficient of insulin to reduce the sugar income .

Like our men of God (prophesying the the unseen version) digging deeper for deep pockets sugar coated phrase of fraud
With heavy tithes on offer

Let me not run away from what we have become humanity has become more
Dangerous than the wild animals

So don't let me cut the truth into the lies we tell ourselves wen we go to sleep
We have become brain dead
Our brain cell will only comprehend money and sex
We betrayed kisses in exchange for selfies as
Desires become selfish
Teenage get sex before sex ads

As my thoughts constantly hit on paper to rewrite the past

I have a secret

....ssh...I`ve got a secret

keep it to yourself so don’t tell
'cause what you see is what you get,
and what you believe is not what is.

it`s buried inside the hollows
under the exterior of a man,
but there lurks a fragile little boy.

no-one would understand,
and if they did know,
they would just laugh, point and stare.

I`ve kept it buried deep
down Inside for too long,
with you, I feel ready to share.

will my dreams
become a living nightmare,
when all is revealed.

....ssh...I`ve got a secret

What You See

What you see is what you get
But what is
Is not
All it seems

And so we chase the rabbit
Round the tree
And down the hole
Searching for the other side

But the other side
Is just the mirror
Of this
Near shore

Still we seek
To grasp and hold
A precious something
That slips through our hands

As things continue
To appear
But just not
Like they appear

Premium Member Toxic Masculinity

I wish I was a manly man, a poor man’s money monger,
Making war and living for the day when I was stronger,
Many men are making more than millionaires can squander,
Many more are sick and sore but out the door they wander.

What is practicality but just a word for sorrow,
What you spend is sure to end but not before you borrow,
Healthy femininity is bought for recreation,
Wealthy masculinity is not my new creation.

Failing men are sailing when they celebrate a brother,
Sailing men are failing when they castigate each other,
What you see is what you get when you are late to linger,
Lesser men are glad to get the gate of every swinger.

Toxic masculinity is not a match for mating,
Logic is formality but not for salivating,
Sonic sensibility is sleeping with a lover,
Chronic femininity is keeping under cover.

Premium Member Koala Brains

(For MTG, LB and their ilk)

Give a koala
A fistful of eucalyptus leaves; their only food,
They won't know what to do with it.
Gotta pick it themselves, or starve.

That's because their brains are smooth,
Like chicken breasts.
No convolutions, small surface area, few connections.
What you see is what you get;
Pretty damned dumb for a mammal.

It seems to me, my dears,
You bear a striking resemblance
To these creatures.
Hand you a concept outside of your bubble -
You know, the food of higher thoughts - You just stare at it,
Reject it as undigestible.

This renders your very thoughts smooth,
No convolutions, small surface area, few connections.
What you see is what you get;
Pretty damned dumb for mammals.

Comfortable In My Skin

In the genesis of life, still void of thought,
now at eighty-three years, I'm feeling distraught.
I entered into a time of constant change,
every phase of life initially was strange.

I’ve never tried to hide what or who I am,
I hope no other, thinks my life is a sham.
But if so, it won't effect my own mindset,
In truth I say, "what you see is what you get."

My life's been blessed for I'm still here today,
I've encountered some speed bumps during my stay.
I've tried living life so that others could see,
that it's always been Jesus, not about me.

Now here's a definition of MACHO
I've never ever heard before
“Male Acting Childish, Hormonal, and Obnoxious”
When I read it, I started thinking of more

There's the ever popular ROTFLMAO
Everybody certainly knows this one
“Rolling On The Floor Laughing My Ass Off”
Used in emails to express some fun

ANFSCD is really a new one on me
“And Now For Something Completely Different”
Originally from a Monte Python skit
At times they were a wee bit irreverent

WYSIWYG is an acronym for
“What You See Is What You Get”
Makes a lot of sense, should be no confusion
But it can still make some people fret

Here's a good one, TNSTAAFL
“There's No Such Thing As A Free Lunch”
Once you realize that, you'll be better prepared
It'll help you a whole great big bunch

This here's a real cute one, SHIAPMP
“So Happy I Almost Peed My Pants”
Was thinking because I used the word 'pee'
Should have warned you guys in advance!

He loves action,with few words
by example,his guidance heard,
a barnabas,he unfolds
encouragment,to be bold;
Strong-minded,solid some say,
stability,day-by-day,
reliability,his creed
to satisfy,family need;
Each day stepping outside the box
what you see,is what you get,
once encountered,none forget,
a boy,beneath it all
very aged now,but still standing tall.

Note :The name I'm proud to hold

Premium Member Blackjack Dealers

Blackjack dealers are not out to beat you.
Dealing the game is what they basically do.
There are 416 cards in an eight deck shoe.
The first two cards dealt won't always please.
This leads to so many different possibilities.
It is not possible to always get twenty-one.
Many times you go over, and the game is done.
The dealer doesn't always bust, and can get more than you.
What you see is what you get when it comes out of the shoe.
Blackjack is one of several table games you can choose.
Remember, leave the casino if you can't afford to lose.
