The vessels were already full

I could've let my head rest on your shoulder,
I could've held you tight in my arms,
In the rain, I could've made declarations of love,
But life felt complete there,
Life felt enough there,
Everything felt ready,
Ripened,
            like a ray,
No space for nonsense,
No space for words,
                                No space for death,
The vessels were already full

The Human Blood Vessels

Our blood vessels are super magical
They are like wires interwoven together
Without entangling with each other
It's unique flowing like stream
Big and small lines busy working
Transporting blood in and out the body
All the way working non-stop
If these vessels are connected
It measured 97,000 kilometers
It can travel the world over two times.

Broken vessels

Just like this vessel, we all bear
Marks of struggle, signs of wear.
But beneath the surface, deep within
Lies the essence of who we have been.

Like a glass that has fallen
And shattered upon the floor.
You gather together its pieces
And hope it can be restored.

A jigsaw puzzle, a mosaic of colors.
Carefully rebuilt, one part against another.
Showing the beauty that creativity can weild.
Love the glue with which it is held.

All its flaws and imperfections
Make it even better.
You can only create diamonds
With extreme heat and pressure.

We like this vessel all have our scars.
Our traumas and experiences, uniquely ours.
We all are broken in one way or another.
It's what's inside the vessel we need to discover.

So let us embrace our cracks and dents.
For they are the marks of life's events.
Each one is a memory of a lesson learned.
Each one a badge of honor we have earned.

Our flaws the colors that paint our designs.
Don't be ashamed,
we all have cracks.
Yours are just different from mine.

The Strict Would One Restrict

Please, quit saying that one may be strict
And peoples movements hardly restrict.
The strict could your blood vessels constrict,
A people confine to a district:
Have the rather free into jail tricked
And forgotten while God's Time ticked.

They just have strong links: 'strict' and 'restrict',
Because 'Strict' often says 'Restrict':
A criminal's captured neck constrict...

Love's Many Vessels

The first time I ever made you coffee I
handed it to you, black and just a little burnt.
with apology on my tongue, I said ‘sorry, there’s no cream.’

You, with your long black hair and snow
driven smile replied, with reassurance on your lips,
‘it’s perfect, I prefer it black’

It’s been 6 months, sweet love, and I watched you
making coffee with your short black hair
and the sun shone bright against the cold,
snow driven cream as it slipped into your mug.

And in this moment I am struck by
love’s elasticity. I held your love in a
2 liter carafe, the black coffee steaming.

Yet in an instant you seamlessly hug
the corners of the square cardboard carton
of half and half and I tuck it away in the fridge
door for safe keeping.

Outside Life's Vessels

Unperturbed by prevailing circumstances,
Unruffled by the turbulent sea,
Shielded from daunting situations,
Not held by the reins of society’s gratification,
Moving without boundaries.

Unclouded thoughts,
Uncluttered pathway,
Not tortured by unseen elements,
Not ravaged by the oddity of time,
It’s a seamless flow.

The past doesn’t infiltrate,
Nothing is shrouded in mystery,
No moving back and forth in time,
No strange awareness,
The dual phenomenon ceases to exist.

No fighting an unending battle,
The outside is not under attack,
Gloom doesn’t hold sway,
There are no broken pieces to fit together,
Unrestricted by the earth's pull.

Without the mind and body,
There'll be no story to tell,
Without the mind and body,
We’re a gliding kite,
We're a ceaseless waterfall.

Colonial Master

Colonial master:
A lot was doing faster
Many stubborn chains able to loosen
Like the vessels whom Christ had chosen.

Colonial master:
Hatefully fought by Rasta
But they were also safeguarding Jamaican rights,
Which sometimes would their sanctity lose
In the darkness of tragic nights
At the hands of The Conquered by booze.

This Great Master though was a great slave
To every African cultivable soil
And ready to hysterically rave,
If we twice looked in the direction of our own crude oil
Ever willing to perish wherever it was in huge deposits:
An assertion of blacks and white being irreversible opposites

More than fifty years now he our bridges built,
Whose survival lengthen our Engineers’ guilt
For having worn the same bowler hats
And chances had to use the same enormous CATS
Beside daring to look as much decisive
In the rarest of bow ties, very massive!

Empty Hallways

Ghosts flaunt and flutter
Terror reigns supreme
Come live in our dwelling
Join the house of fiends
Light trails and pursues
Darkness bears no retreat
Come live in our dwelling
Join the house of deceit
Vessels amble and attend
Desolation’s tune is complete
Come live in our dwelling
Join the house of delete
Dusk broadens and swells
Time taken for a thief
Come live in our dwelling
Join the house of grief
Openings expose and reveal
Memories’ tears run dry
Come live in our dwelling
Join the house of goodbye

At least the vessels
flexible pipe flowing
Flowing through my emotions
 are drastically stretched out
Engulfed and powered by the cool like a waters
Handled spigot with the handle and the screw through
it turns right to be on
turns left to be all like a laden fall
Autumn is turn to Winter
Squirrels endowed with complexity intestinal digressities
I am flowing through the tube of adorning
Meetings hidden piles of nuts
In swollen tree trunk and branches
Birds tweeting and dancing
Lighting and swinging on armed branches
living blood waters flow
At ease the schedule

Vessels

one day i will lose you lover
throw your bones into the creek
leaving rotting flesh yearning
for the gap between my teeth
for i am a patchwork of sorrows
i've been weaving since my birth
did your mother tell you to love me
or did you wish to become cursed
it seems i'm skin and bone and you
sewn up by shaky hands
so until i come apart
will you at least spare me a glance

Exuding
Christ’s
goodness…

…radiating bliss
serenely blest
midst turmoil…

…vessels of honour*
serve with love
indeed faith-driven.

Empty Vessels

EMPTY VESSELS

Just some empty vessels--that is all she had--
And a heavy burden, and some hungry lads.
But she’d sought the prophet, he told her to fill
All the empty vessels, following God’s will.
Oil then was in plenty, and her debts were paid
All because the woman heard and then obeyed.
I am like a vessel; maybe I am small,
But the Lord can fill me if I give may all.
He’s not interested in my shape or size,
For I am quite special in His holy eyes.
He’s not going to hurt me, nor my life abuse;
He just wants to have me for His work to use.
He won’t ever force me to walk in His way,
But I know He’ll bless me if I will obey.
Help me, Lord, be empty, so me you can fill,
Help me be submissive to Your perfect will.
Help me just to trust You every day and hour;
Fill this empty vessel with Your love and power.

We are all empty vessels on the ocean of consciousness:
navigate mindfulness to awareness, then awaken.
There are many lineages, some shallow harbors.
Enlightenment remains always on the horizon.

To understand oneness, universal consciousness -
embrace "nothingness", "no-self", "emptiness".
If it seems contradictory, that's not an illusion.
Let go, allow ego to dissolve, fall into emptiness.
Dismiss judgmentality and raging individualism.
Look into suffering with karmic loving-kindness.

Open to your Buddhanature, your Buddhaself.
Tame your mind on the meditation cushion.
Resist grasping enlightenment, enlightenment finds you.
Empty your vessel and be liberated.
Fill your life with love and compassion.
Become the other.
