Verre Poems

without my permission

Speak to the primrose,
Of this girl,
This princess
Haunting your thoughts
Without my permission,

Speak to the primrose,
From this satin wine
This nectar that flows
In your glass,
Without my permission,

Talk with the primrose
You can’t live
Without thinking of them
They never lied to you,
You know it today.

Parles en à la primevère,
De cette fille,
Cette princesse
Qui hante tes pensées
Sans ta permission,

Parles en à la primevère,
De ce vin satiné
Ce nectar qui coule
Dans ton verre,
Sans ta permission,

Parles en à la primevère
Tu ne peux vivre
Sans penser à eux,
Ils ne t’ont jamais menti,
Tu le sais aujourd’hui.

poetry for my stomach

My “honey” with chestnuts will not come for Christmas,
It’s life, you have to enjoy yourself anyway
once a year,

New Year’s menu to enjoy at the time you like,

Foie gras with a glass of Monbazillac,
Snails with butter,
Scallop shell with lemon-white butter
Short break

Quail with hot mango
and hazelnut potatoes,

Maybe cheese with the tour des grands ducs (local wine)

Then the dessert
Traditional bûche de Noël

You are all welcome
No need to be a millionaire even at Christmas

To Be Followed 5 Ending

On the tides of words,
The eyes too light,
In the running of zebras,
I’m looking for it,

Under the wool, night dreams,
On the precious jewels,
The faces without worries,
I’m still looking for it,

On the torn heart,
By the Mayan treasures,
On the sleeping sun,
I’m looking for it,

In my nervous city,
In the fields of olive trees,
On the softened glass,
I’m looking for it,

In the bed of sources,
On the stopped trains,
On the docile clocks,
In the riddles of heaven,
I find it,
The happiness you’re running from.

Sur les marées de mots,
Les yeux trop légers,
Dans la course des zèbres,
Je le cherche,

Sous la laine, rêves nocturnes,
Sur les bijoux précieux,
Les visages sans soucis,
Je le cherche encore,

Sur le cœur arraché,
Par les trésors mayas,
Sur le soleil qui dort,
Je le cherche,

Dans ma ville nerveuse,
Dans les champs d’oliviers,
Sur le verre adouci,
Je le cherche,

Dans le lit des sources,
Dans les trains arrêtés,
Sur les horloges dociles,
Dans les énigmes du ciel,,
Je le trouve,
Le bonheur que vous fuyez.

Lost in the Translation

“Donnez-moi un verre de vin”

My accent seemed strange at the Paris café

They brought me an entire carafe of wine

And I drank it all to my escort’s dismay

When I asked, “Ou est la salle de bain?”

Le confused garcon led me to the alleyway

“Où sont les toilettes?” I tried again

“C'est à l'hôtel,” was all he could say

Groaning, “Sacré bleu, PARDON MY FRENCH!”

I spun and jogged miles to my hotel in haste

Two thousand for airfare, far more for a tutor

Such an investment seems quite a “waste”

When all you want is to relieve yourself

And still cannot locate the proper place
