You cannot hold Winter
Children weep for acorns
and their plummets of blackcurrants
They have lost their Midas Touch
Urban foraging is bygone pride

In the almighty Yahweh, I found great favor,
He formed me; shaped me; gave me the strength to savor;
Midst good and bad, like a reed, my mind, did waver,
I lost his grace, owing to the apple flavor...!
Yet, He made me the mother of humanity,
Freeing me from my pride-filled absurd vanity;
Forgiving my mind-body-soul insanity,
Sculptured within me a tender urbanity...!
From the beginning of the cosmos till its end,
He made, in each and every tongue, my name to blend;
Though mortal in nature he helped me to ascend,
To the heavens, my life eternally to spend...!!!

Urbanity
A beautiful morning, slightly overcast cars
on the avenue play sordini, rubber yielding to asphalt
The sun has yet to make its presence felt
The curtain in the window stirs; the breeze and has
a soothing hand
The building is awakening
First flushing bathroom, then the good kitchen sound
A murmur of voices grows to a crescendo
A frisson through the flats, another day of life is promised
in the urban landscape.

Where are the universal themes,
the parables, the parallels that might
be drawn from humdrum, quotidian
happenstance? We languish in these ruts
we live in and bear our days with resignation
(some with equanimity) -- justifying
our inaction, our failures to break free,
with feeble lame excuses -- never a real cause:
which is, succinctly, our timorous laziness.
A broadening of perspective, a striving toward the epic,
the grandiose -- with, perhaps, the universality of
civilized urbanity, or of rural natural simplicity or even
stark objectivity -- may these be what we need?
Here's the stale conclusion: be daring,
brave enough to become accustomed
to a singular (perhaps lone) existence.
When you must, be fair and listen but,
when you should, be insistently unbending
to the pressures and opinions of your peers.
And use your mind, your unique voice, and
proclaim incessantly your messages,
even to those who turn to you
their stubbornly deaf ears.

I love Paul Merton
I just wish he'd keep his shirt on....
Stop flexing his pecs
In front of Ant n Dec,
Even Vladimir Putin shows more respect
To the long suffering viewer;
Paul:- climb out of the sewer,
Resist the urge to flash
Your naked rippling torso
You're rightly famous cos you're so
Frivolous and witty
It would be a real pity
If your elegant urbanity
Was eclipsed by this inanity,
The soul of wit is brevity
So confine yourself to levity
And keep that sex god bod, son
Securely wrapped in cotton -
Think of all the panel shows you've got on
Whilst staying fully clothed
In doublet and hose,
The paps dont need to see your nipples
It just creates unnecessary ripples
In the light entertainment pond
You are never going to star as Bond!
Stick to your faintly surrealistic reflections
On whether Cumberpatch keeps Capons,
And for pity's sake Merton
Just keep your blooming shirt on!

My ear drums vibrate not in this languid air.
The bustle of urbanity gone somewhere
Else and left me here to listen unprotected
From the cacophony always detected
Where humans gather and helplessly vibrate.
Perhaps a glimpse into our ultimate fate.
It is a surprise to hear nothing at all -
Not a bird's twitter or a ripe apple's fall,
And a pleasant one I might add with a smile -
I will return and rest my weary ears awhile.

Once upon a midnight otherworldly
My metaphysical, I could not awaken
Eagerly I looked for the literal
Through which came thrilling, thrilling, thrilling
The absurdist seemed happy instilling
The caring caring cultivating
The haunting never contemplating
Take thy evocation from out my heart
I crave the unfathomable, unnamable unworldliness
Suddenly, I heard some disciplining
Ah, distinctly I was capacitating
'It's that urbanity,' I muttered

Behind the mighty structures of brick and stone,
Are the naked hands of people who stand alone,
Fighting against all odds through the sun & rain,
Until the last drop of their energy drains.
A group of faceless people lacking urbanity,
Yet striving each day for their pride and vanity,
To build castles of dream for their family & kids,
So they don’t have to suffer, the way they themselves did.
With tanned, battered bodies and soiled sores,
They are forever ready to take on more,
Only to earn enough to make ends meet,
And manage a jhuggi on the narrow street.
No matter how often they drop to the ground,
With illness or by exhaustion downed,
The hope of a bright new day in their eyes,
Makes them rub off the dust and rise.
No matter if they have to stay miles apart,
From friends & families so dear to their heart,
The lamp of hope within them is always alive,
The grit of a labor isn’t dead till they die.

With Love Comes Change
Ingrained within humanity
Lies blatant, crass profanity.
A product of mundanity;
(That's smoldering volcanity,
With all of its inanity),
Is lacking in urbanity
And borders on insanity!
What seems a mere formality,
Could lessen such brutality,
(Or hinder some fatality);
By changing ones mentality
Towards a new morality:
Of love inclined reality.

I Think, Therefore Am I?
Neck cracking penumbra
shines on starlit mundanity
ebon macabre epiphanies
fogwebs of my morality
my tongue twists ceaselessly
trinkets of truffled profanity
dearest mirror, mirror reality
has humanity cursed me?
For the fatality of dreams
bared in broken bosoms
of madness and brutality
masked by faux urbanity
crowns like a dead infant
delivered from its womb
into the arms of inanity
a morbidly, tragic formality
But still steadfast I warrior
heart held bleeding in hand
cur-sed whispers of volcanity
bent echoes of forced vitality
to sever the seams of malady
and hand scribe the braindust
of my cursive minded mentality
upon reams of papered therapy
shrouded by inky black misery
of things thought but never told
to a world swilled in sugar beliefs
of dappled sun and spun parasols
rainbow thoughts and red carousels
while I continue to wander down
this darkened tunnel of insanity

In this new world, the reality of insanity
Elicits frail morality, losing deep values
To cuthroat urbanity. We thirst for quick fixes
And dismiss gentle formality although life
Grants humanity its spirit’s wholeness—
How can greed and power allow us to ignore
Kindness, simple vitality borne from Hope,
Our birthright amid mundanity? Is man’s dream
Caged in temporal inanity where success
Is appraised by materialism or arrogant fame?
Such brutality! We forget the path of compassion
As time forges on in despotic volcanity, while
Children grow imbibing a mentality that existence
Lies in crude profanity based on self-interest…
Where is love in this equation?A doomed fatality
Of modern times , perhaps. I wonder.
