Kicking Tires
So that is next year’s model, is it now?
The vintage being deftly moved aside.
I feel oddly sorry for them both, and how
Her sleekness won’t survive the filthy ride.
The vintage is deftly moved aside,
the owner seeks his youth in pristine sheen
Her sleekness won’t survive the filthy ride.
I was once the starlet in this scene.
The owner, seeking youth in pristine sheen
his hand on one, his eyes upon the next;
the vintage and the fresh, both rides I’ve been.
I feel oddly sorry for them, vexed.
His hand drops down, his eyes are on the next;
the Classic with her charm and Botox tried.
I feel oddly sorry for her, vexed.
Her perch, always precarious, slides.
The Classic with her charm and Botox tried
She meets my eyes, and casts her gaze askance
unsupported on that perch, she starts to slide
the modern model starts a slow advance.
She meets my eyes, and casts her gaze askance
I feel oddly sorry for them both, and how
the modern model starts the slow advance...
So, this is next year’s model, is it now?
He told her the fact.
What she'll do, if had lady.
I'll head to your tomb.
The lyrics are but new
But this music is old
Lovers of such are but few
The lips are but different
I have tasted this kiss before
They are no better than Judas's
There are but few flowers
That never fades nor withers
by the stretch of time
Many are the twisting tongues
False face, deceitful dogs
of lying lips and hardened heart
I know you lustful lovers
of waxy feelings
That melt away so soon
The angel you claim to be
was who my devil was
When yet love was unripe
After days of pretence professed
And love lavished on lies
She unmasked herself
To paint ugly a once beautiful
Picture of paradise
Into a horrible hell
You're the devil I know
Stars with borrowed twinkles
A moon for a single night
Heart's unfaithfulness the soul deprives of its moral treasures!

I have never known this much harmony
Before you came into my life thunderstorm rocks my world
Your coming was a blissfully welcomed symphony
You brought warmth and chased away cold
My life became your craft and you performed a heavenly job
Never have I felt so blissful and fulfilled
Many times over excitement made me sob
And I walked head high for being so loved
Could something so divine fade so fast?
Still I refuse to believe this forgotten storm is coming my way
No, you are the one that pursued the past
What is warmth can never make cold to stay
Where did I go wrong my love?
Why unfaithfulness the only means to repay
Please tell me before I dissolve
Into the darkness you once chased away
