Two plus hours of joy,
me and my mountain bike,
she's a capable toy.
Mz. Betty and her boy,
with her I am a tike,
so young and full of joy.
Shouting noisily hoy,
unembarrassed childlike,
on Johnny's two wheeled toy.
I jump on and enjoy,
a euphoric like spike,
bursting with giddy joy.
In charge of my employ,
I'm outside where I like,
on my Specialized toy.
Engaging in my ploy,
flying down the dirt pike,
as I pedal for joy,
because I have this toy.

sticky reside unglued
cracker crunches undone
hallway empty of echos
painted fingers faded fast
toy chest passed on
clatter and laughter gone
mother's tasks snatched
unessential, unemployed
home vacated, heart void

Ah, morning glory, such internal blush,
defy the penetration of brash sun.
Oh linger, trumpet of dawn in the dim
haze of mid-morning, do not be undone.
Oh, fairest of the fair, your milk white core
bleeds forth to bloom a brim of violet poise,
unembarrassed on the cheek of Sol's dawn.
Unfurled, you toy with youthful joy employed
upon the aged arch your vines entwine.
Rough cut the cedar arbor drips delight
as heart shaped leaves drowsy in the sun
weave between like fingered hands and unite.
Oh, bless the day that births such pert posies,
bless the royal hues of our Morning Glories.
