Clean and Void

clean carpets fresh scented
unembarrassed for guests
sticky reside unglued
cracker crunches undone
hallway empty of echos
painted fingers faded fast
toy chest passed on
clatter and laughter gone
mother's tasks snatched
unessential, unemployed
home vacated, heart void
