Premium MemberChristmas Tree

I unbox my faux Christmas tree, a tradition every year,
Adorned with baubles, lights, and festive cheer,
In the living room, presents beneath its boughs,
A holiday aura, a delightful vow.

My daughter opts for a real Spruce so divine,
Decked in finery, outshining mine,
Alpine scent wafts, a winter's sweet reprieve,
Snowy visions, Christmas Eve.

Around the lake on a cool, cloudy day,
Live trees adorned in hues, a picturesque display,
Birds chirp, lively ornaments on display,
Geese, swans, egrets in festive play.

Rain or shine, the tree stands bold,
A beacon of goodwill, a tale untold,
No shining lights, no silvery attire,
Yet, an aura of happiness, a radiant fire.

Backward Drawkcab

My mind is infrequent
Not eloquent... I guess.
Your mind is a bottle
Amused at the thrill of what?
Smoke clouds unused..
Problems askewed.
Deep wrenching can't stand me's
And nothing to lose.
It's fire?
It's yours?
I try to unbox?
I'm amused
In a sense of collapse.
You're standing with a new shot. It's a bone...
Severed.
Unusually brittle.
A stone skipped on water.
Exciting, but belittled
Ready, 3...2..1
A secret.. treasured.

Closed Off

You've opened a flurry of emotions
As you kept on trying to unbox me
For you couldn't stop till you opened my can of worms
Cause you wanted to know what eats me from inside

I told you I'm long dead and that you shouldn't bother
But you just had to check for yourself
Now look you can't bare but cry from what you've seen
Cause its too much misery unlike what you've known

You saw with your eyes how I'm long gone
That the emptiness you see from my eyes
Is cause my soul sank, I wiped away any form of guilt
That's why I always have a clean slate to do as I please

I told you you ain't ready to see it all
But you decided to go over my wall
Jumping in thinking you'd get answers
Only to get lost in the emptiness within

to be continued...

Premium MemberBottle of Tears

I saw a can of tears with a 'use by',
Not 'better by' date. The date had come
And gone, and the can was never opened.
In the next aisle, I saw a can of liberated

Emotions, and just inches away, a larger can
Of repressed emotions. Clearly, the tears were
Never shed, and both cans of emotions, the
Liberated and repressed were never expressed.

Cans are like depositories; their use is temporary.
Tears are designed to flow whenever called upon.
Emotions inform outsiders what's going on inside.
They need conduits, not cans, to release their stories.

No, we cannot always reveal the fears behind the tears.
Nor can we freely unbox painful emotions with a language.
Sometimes, we are fortunate enough to have a true friend.
Moreover, God is always there to put our tears in a bottle*.

Premium MemberJust Climb

Certainty is great,
and knowledge is good,

but it's not everything.
Nor does everything come with

instructions. Quite often there
are missing pieces, blank spaces,

unsure faces. We don't always know
where we are going; how we will get there;

nor the absolute reasons we are going, but
we go anyway. We are not always certain of our

true purpose in life, nor how it will unfold.
But we do not wait for a future that may never

come, nor for all the tools to execute our plan.
We use what God places in our hands.

Sometimes, we unbox we know not what, like a box
of chocolate life; never knowing what's in the box.

If you don't know who you are, tell everyone who you
think you are. We seldom know what we are really going

to be. So, we tell everyone what we want to be. The thing
you desire most in life is at the top of a tree. Start climbing.

Open the Sails

I learnt to let my arms float in the air
And let the rush flow with the wind
Cause I was so focused on being great
Putting pressure on myself that I was close to breaking

So when I stretch my hands out
I let go of all the tensions in me
And learn to go with the flow
And bid by the timing of the waves of mother nature

Cause I was always setting sail when the winds were low
Thinking I can just propel myself into the ocean
Forgetting that there's something bigger than me
Something that opens my mind open to unbox my potential

So when I stretch my hands out
I unload the burden onto the winds
So that for once I feel lighter as I came
Not heavy dragging the crate that my mind came in

And in that moment with nature
I learnt to soar above the struggles
And to always have new air in my lungs
So that even when I'm drowning, I've got enough air to push through

Premium MemberChristmas In July

I already bought my faux Christmas tree.
It will go on and turned as soon as we unbox it, get it set up!
I did this last year when lockdowns began.

I will not allow evil deceptors to ruin my life in anyway they can.
Music....not faux news is allowed in this house.
I cannot bear another lie!
They all should wear costumes, those Wuhan louse!

Hell is a perfect place for them, and the pain as they burn
in eternity!
Ah, such great satisfaction.....for all their lies and distractions!

Premium MemberSpring Is Coming Soon

Soon one and all will welcome the unique
Pleasantness of spring. Sun’s
Rays and showers will fulfill their
Intended purpose, engendering
New life in the earth as we say
Good-bye to winter’s last cold blast.

Indoor time will decrease as
Sounds of joy fill the air outside.

Closets will reflect the season--
Out with the overcoats, gloves,
Muted shades, and heavy shoes;
In with brighter, light-weight apparel.
Now, let’s unbox those shorts and flipflops.
Go ahead and stock up on grilling supplies.

Some of us have allergies.
Our eyes and noses will flow freely.
Our meds, we hope, will help. Achoo!
NEVERTHELESS, WE ALSO LOVE SPRING!

Ghosts of Summer

When I close my lids
and unbox these dusty memories,
I discover that it's hard for me
to recapture
the ghosts that summer turned over
in its warm hands of variance.
They were people that existed
only for a season
that would leave me dreaming
of true face-to-face talk,
like when I first learned
we four sailed the same sea of soullessness
and could reignite each other's lives
after the dorm lights had died,
feelings I wish I'd never felt
if they would be replaced
by repetitive typing on a keyboard
back in my humid apartment
where desperation sets in,
four lifetime years later,
and half the country away.
