"O blessed Java Sparrows mostly, the rare Opals then the plentiful Greys--palm frond squatters, and the ever so oft, Mejiro birds, a.k.a., the "Japanese White-Eyed," chartreuse bodied against the legendary red Lehua blossoms of the Ohia tree," ... by the Poet's House
Negligible motions, Java Sparrows,
haiku artisan, deep in thought, attends,
dawn break wings flapped--an idea narrows,
wake unassumed thoughtless emptied pretends.
Shelved packaged bird seeds feignedly addressed,
bird tray absence spilt seeds stretch, preached as well,
slight spread outwards, fashioned spawning impressed,
near and far, Meijiro's numbered midst swell.
Shunned Java Sparrows, aimless namesakes,
Meijiro's not pleased, their own--true Zero,
starved be-trayed craftsman sentiments opaques,
overburdened, labored--the birds, ditto!
Food fills the starving, and water quench thirst,
pleased chirps harmonize--receptive mind, versed.

The music played without a word.
A misconception's all I heard.
And by the time I got too old.
The love inside her heart turned cold.
But no one seemed to pay attention.
No one would mention an intervention.
The time just kept ticking away.
And Cupid had nothing to say.
You drink alone up at the bar.
Just reaching for that small town star.
And end up walking home alone.
Where all you hears a dial tone.
There's mystic haze around the moon.
That fills the summer nights in June.
But to a man with long lost hope.
The magic's gone from that trick rope.
So when the world turns half around.
And you wake to your own heart pound.
You can't help wonder why you'd pray.
To make it through another day.
But here you are still unassumed.
Where dusty dreams are kept ungroomed.
And only lonesome songs are played.
In dim lit corners of sun set shade.

The Thought of You
Alone in her room she poses to stare
In her spherical mirror devoid of all clothes
Her lithe body strides over to pick up her dress
And drapes it against her admiring his gift
Her disheveled hair emblazoned in rows
A tendriled tiara , a queen de la vie
Unassumed beauty and a pert smile to charm
Eyelashes that flutter revealing her eyes
Of hazel that glow and blend with her hair
Her transparent dress embedded in foils
That glow from within when her heart rate will rise
He has been blessed with the love of his life
She entered his sun and his joy shineth bright
She Sits Alone Contest
