Went on an excursion to find a soul,
Broken brutally but standing as a whole.
Blinded by the brightness all around.
Body filled with invisible wounds.
Scars going deep to the heart,
‘Agony’ as the life’s major part.
To whom , nothing feels right.
The one unfamiliar with light.
To whom , happiness is a foreign concept.
‘Grief’ is what it accepts.
What they want it to be is what it’s dying to be,
But what it really is, is not what it’s trying to be.
Everyday, fighting with its own emotions.
Thinking, pondering, worrying but coming to no conclusion.
Feels like running, but got no place to hide.
For the half of its life it had only cried.
Sometimes for help, sometimes out of pain,
Some tears understood, others went into vain.
Social interactions feel like an unalarmed compulsion.
Going deep and deep into the world of seclusion.
That soul’s got no place to hide ,
But still it was extremely difficult to find.
I was looking for a reason,
Ultimately came to only one conclusion.
The failure of my search;
Only one thing could explain,
The ‘SMILE’ that deceives people and hides all the pain.

Temptations were there, clouding along the way,
Every time they were grasped, taking hope away.
Still, the stubborn heart took the chance,
Striving hard in desperate hope for a glance.
Unalarmed by danger, eyes full of romance,
Pity to let them go, the mere faded ones.

So storms the night wind through the vane
Summoning the sounds of howling beasts
Assailing all that stands above and tall
Like chimney tops and stately green pines
Will not reveal the source of crashing down
Until the break of dawn and cloudless sky
They venture forth to survey the havoc done
Sun rising like nothing in the dawn amiss.
At first all seems well to the roving eye
Until closer inspection finds a neighbor’s cat
Hunkered down beneath the lower portico
Having given birth to seven yellow tabbies
Unalarmed by the threats of recent hail
And nursing contentedly at mother’s breasts.
