Her jittery tattoo jiggled as the jagged queen walked to the kitchen.
To what degree are things amiss? She asked the eccentric cook.
The barley beer is bitter, the chef replied. He was always ’n.
What is that kooky bug zapper doing in here? Queen gave him a look.
Sapphire put it in he said, affixing blame on his assistant cook.
Upon her return, Sapphire challenged his assertion and he turned yellow.
She shared her hot apple turnovers and was promoted to head cook.
Waffles are my specialty she said as they led out the disgruntled fellow.

My crushes are so numerable, it is crazy to try to remember them all.
When I love you it’s in a full blown puppy way, in your lap with Tarzan’s call.
Sky King, Mighty Mouse, Bugs Bunny, The Pink Panther, Howdy Doody.
Yes, I know it is dating me. I also crush on things sweet and fruity.
Cobbler, filled donuts, eclairs, turnovers, any kind of pie especially cherry.
I loved being outside picking fruit, peas, beans, and all kinds of berry.
I crushed on mushrooms fresh from the woods full of tiny ants.
When I got a bit older I crushed on bell bottoms, the hippy pants.
Crush on Elvis, Johnny Cash, John Wayne, Maureen Sullivan and others.
Cannot get enough of Trixie Belden, Nancy Drew, and Agatha Christie.
Love all things shiny dazzling – rhinestones, aluminum foil, names like Trixie.
Attracted beyond belief to Tina Turner, Cher, Bette Midler and Adam Lambert.
A hippie throwback with a green thumb; I love to wear a three tiered skirt.
TV is not my thing at all, but I love to paint, swim, dance, play racquetball.
I love what I love, and I mean for the rest of my life, flat out in a puppy way.
So if you want to be my friend, make sure it’s forever because I don’t play.

Thou art tongue-tied, once fate has the stage.
Only the benighted reciprocates with outrage.
Oblivious man tried to plan ahead boldly,
To mold his fortune with one last longing.
He forgot one thing, fate had his plans too.
Meeting is a coincidence, friendship is a choice,
Love is destiny, comes out of the blue.
If you are willing follow the lead,
No escape though, fate drags the reluctant too.
What if we prepare our own future and call it fate?
to shake off the burden.
Having no weight on our shoulders, leaning on a superior
is our guerdon.
But if no one is willing to be the bridge,
We’ll wait on the shore until the apocalypse.
The route is clear, fate is real.
If you want proof, just listen to your heartbeat.
But all the turns and turnovers belong to the passenger.
So, you neither dominate your life, nor desperate against it.

Cherry turnovers hold a certain charm for one such as I.
Their delectable taste really and truly does satisfy.
All in all, they are my very very favourite dish
So much so that I would ask for an endless supply as my genie wish.
A sweet dessert that ends a delicious meal,
This lovely dish, for me, calls with great appeal.
I love the red so alike to the color of a rose after a bath of rain.
Such color and rich sweetness in something far from plain!
Eat them when cherry juice oozes and golden is the crust.
Trust me in that cherry turnovers are an absolute must!
Fulfilling to a growling tummy and the taste buds of the tongue,
Cherry turnovers have been my favourite ever since I was young!

Spearmint grass and cotton candy trees
Banana palms and coconut breeze
Fiery cinnamonworks to glisten the skies
Apple turnovers and cherry-filled pies
Tiny teacup cookies with sugar plates
Sweet cranberry sauce and jellied dates
Chocolate clouds with a banana-split sun
Delicate roses taste like raspberry gum
Juicy sweet treats in a world of fun
Stretching as far and as wide as I can run
Hershey-kissed mountaintops with milk-dud dirt
Blistering vanilla-frosting fog dances by my skirt
Cherry-flavored rocks made from candy too
Every color of our rainbow --- purple, pink, and blue
White-chocolate doves fly hollow in the sky
More candy here than anyone can buy

~Always around my grandma New,
a pleasure to be with her never blue.
Always was something new to do,
you see her name was Martha New.
~My granny lived up to her special name,
ordinary gal with no special fame.
In pranks played I was framed,
excitement around her never waned.
~Her special fried chicken,
was awesome finger licking,
caused Sanders to became sicken,
and franchise to become stricken!
~Her pies quite profound,
Chocolate turnovers renown,
many tasters came unwound,
on no faces were ever a frown.
~She was my beloved granny,
often times whipped my fanny.
Also her wisdom was uncanny,
at the swimming hole ’Big Piney’
~She called me M, not Moe,
and let her wisdom show.
“Don’t get into the water M,
until you have learn to swim!”
