Trimming Poems

Premium MemberTrimming Zz Top

I gave ZZ Top a trim, my lying uncle said.
He could not say it straight. His face got all red.
We found the evidence after he was long dead.
“Look at this!” yelled my lying cousin Little Ned.

“Come on!” I said as I stared at the pick.
This has to be some kind of Uncle Tommy trick!
No way had ZZ Top come to this one-cat town.
But we still haul that stupid photograph around.

Time Will Tell My Love

TIME WILL TELL MY LOVE
Across the street in front of my house
A wild dog always parades in front of a house.
A house which though has no fence
Flowering hedges cover this house
There live this angelic lovely lady I love
How do I tell her as she is covered?
Covered by her father, and oh, the dog too!

In the evening, no chance to see her.
In the day time, I go to school far off from hers.
In times I chance her eyes, I only say in my heart,
‘Come on lady, I need you can’t you see?’
The day I will get closer, I’ll whisper to her, ‘I love you’.
But I was intimidated by her beauty and vandalized with cowardice
The day we met at the street corner when she smiled to me.

Yea, I know now,
Time will come but not now,
When yet inexperienced and cared for and covered
And schooling, and training and trimming and seeking the assurances
Of a secured better future, with hands always stretched for daily bread
From the coverer and allies, petitioning my patience for the time to tell
Yes, the time itself will tell my love that I have for love her.

TRIMMING THE CHRISTMAS TREE

Once a year across the land
A festive time is carefully planned
Part of this time just has to be
The anticipation of trimming the tree

It's always fun to shop and choose
Exactly the tree you wish to use
You take it home and once it's there
You decorate it with loving care

Special ornaments bring great delight
When placed on the tree to reflect the light
Each handmade by a tiny tot
Placed on the tree in a special spot

Kept and cared for all these years
Now hung with memories that bring on tears
You think of Christmases long since past
And marvel that time can move so fast

Those tiny tots now grown and gone
Will soon have children of their own
To teach how special it can be
When the time has come to trim the tree

Trimming Advice From Uncle Mike

Trimming Advice from Uncle Mike (another thing I learned from the web)

How do I say this and still stay PC
The number of injuries doctors now see
Related to grooming on one’s lower half
Are rising so quickly on the injury graph
The number of incidents increased five fold
Just in the last 8 years we’ve been told
Lacerations from razors, the number one type
The female persuasion the biggest to gripe
It’s not for their health, they just want to please
By looking like **** stars for their latest squeeze
But guys too are trimming and cutting themselves
In an effort to look like sweet innocent elves
If you’re contemplating trimming down there
Use clippers not razors and please trim with care

Oh sanguine

lost hopes

and

dreams

each ornament renews

kisses, laughter, loved ones remembered
each ornament renews
victories, struggles, from bounty to barren
each ornament renews
cradle to grave, sweet memories rush back
each ornament renews
strength to survive, with loved ones near
each ornament renews

oh sanguine

fresh hopes

and

dreams

each ornament renewed

Trimming

Clipping, smoothing, pruning; silly
dilly-dallies that people do.
Gross lessons in futility
achieved. And Oh!, tis true, tis true!
