Tranquilizers Poems

He came back wrong.

They said he'd graze in peace,
a living museum piece—
proof we could right old wrongs.

But the mammoth didn’t come back peaceful.
He came back pissed.
Like he remembered
the trap pits,
the fires,
the arrows.

Came back heavy
with old rage packed in every stomp.

We thought he'd roam in northern parks,
let tourists snap their pictures.
Instead, he tore down a wind farm
and flattened three towns
before the drones even launched.

The ice in his blood
froze rivers.
His tusks?
Ripped steel like wet cloth.

His eyes weren’t kind.
They were old.
Like he saw through us—
and found nothing worth keeping.

They tried to contain him.
Shot him full of tranquilizers.
But his skin was tougher than our tech,
and his will
was older than our machines.

He doesn’t run in herds.
He doesn’t need to.
One is enough
to silence cities.

Now we live underground,
listening to the rumble.
Not thunder.
Him.
Still walking.
Still mad.

And we know now—
extinction wasn’t the tragedy.
Resurrection was.

For My Future Daughter

I wish for my daughter to become a savage.

A perfectly wild and untamed creature
who spits fire from
the deepest pit of her being.
Who isn’t afraid to bare her teeth
and eat away at
men with tranquilizers
and diagnoses of “hysteria.”
Who breaks the silence
of her quiet eyes
and tells the whole world what she sees.
because she is the one that terrifies them.
Whose claws are painted with
the dirt and mud of revolution
instead of sexy red.

Who remembers that
fighting a war
for the entirety of life
is tiresome.
Who comes home to mom
every once in a while
for healing kisses
and snuggles in bed (if she still fits).
Who lets the love
mama pours
into her savage heart
carry her
farther than the reaches
of the horizon
she is bound to greet.

My Present State

My heart can feel it, the overwhelming surge of emotion.
It grips and it tears with merciless ferocity as if it was a wild animal within my body and I can't stop it from overtaking me.
A transformation of sorts, a lycan from the underworld.
Born from the underbelly of my inner darkness and desolate descent into spirit death.
And as I decay, slowly decay.
I leave behind me when passing by as if a trail of lingering stench.
As if the smell is attached to the very essence of my being and human interaction.
Well maybe in my case inhuman interaction for I lost track of what mercy and belief in humanity is.
My world is now carnivorous and carnal.
I am a hunter now, I am always ready to go for the kill with guns that shoot emotional tranquilizers that ensure my remaining humanity is sedated, captured, and eaten.
I am never full.
Any hope of satisfaction or satiation is sedated.
Lord have mercy…..I don't remember the last time I had mercy.
I don't remember the last time I deserved it.
Mercy me, let those who can run away run free.
Let those who can run away, run away from me….

Premium MemberTaryn and Tigger

Taryn and Tigger of Irishville
Lived in fear of a windowsill
The old woman there was old and mean
And of cats she truly was not keen

I wish the faerie of St Pat was near.
She would fix that old dear.
She’d make her kind, and change her up.
She’d put tranquilizers in her cup.

Taryn and Tiger had a good day almost every day until
They found themselves under the old biddie’s window sill.
That old crone would come unglued and throw pots down
Breaking crockery and flowers all over the alley ground.

The faerie of St. Pat must have heard the kitty couple’s plea.
During St. Patrick’s parade, crone left the apartment to her cousin Bea.
Bea loved cats and invited them in for cat nip tea.
It was the beginning of a marvelous relationship, you see.

Inside the Head

I have something to say
These days I don’t pray
As painters paint the sun grey
The waters don’t caress the bay.

Light or dark whatever we follow
With gay faces hiding minds hollow
Tranquilizers seem best to swallow
As the world looks fine and mellow

Lovers don’t vow each other’s trust
Love is driven by the wing of lust
As flesh and bone dissolve in dust
It is better to live as metal-cast

The fog, the mist, inside the head
Destroys the sleep while in bed
Men becoming so power-fed
Deep within we all are dead

Her Sadness

Heavy-hearted beneath your bridge with tides drowning
Eccentric beyond repair and never learning your lesson
Relief found comfortable only when you're frowning

Somber ruefulness contingent on your severe depression
Addicted to any mind altering chemicals; lost not found
Dastardly and wicked like a cowardly lion and a thief
Nondescript and lacking the ability to stay earthbound
Embezzlement of your felicity was your only relief
Sedated from tranquilizers and subdued from persuasion
Suicide found alleviation and refrained from confrontation

So Many

So many surviving,
Desperation is driving
Impulsive decisions
In need of emotional circumcision,
So many astray
In a world of disarray
Polluted by deception
In need of a spiritual resurrection,
So many sedated
Zombies that have mated
Domino effect
When the substance causes havoc
So many in a daze
From their lies and heathen ways
False comfort, counterfeit light
Consuming all their appetites
So many in chains
From years of hurt and pain
Paralyzed by the one
Who was cast out of the sun
So many bleeding
Yet they are doing the leading
Cannibals are feeding
Not listening to those who are pleading
So many, so many, run away
Traded their birth right for moments of gray,
Tranquilizers to disguise
The torment they hold deep inside
So many forgot,
That blood was shed to remove their spots
Tormented souls who have fallen down
Those who found out no one was around
So many isolated,
Infected with self-hatred
Pride comes before the fall
There is only one who can save them all
Only God can make them whole
Give them a purpose and a goal
So many drowning in their fears
In pure ignorance they don’t see clear.

She soars up and above the clouds
and rides on the breeze of the wind.
Bringing words of hope and inspiration
as the breeze lifts her wings-high--higher.
Her heart and soul flies higher than an eagle
And her words dance in the wind-wild and free.
 Kindness, guides her way.
Bringing light to a sometimes challenging world.
Words that are tranquilizers for the soul.
Passion, for without passion we never meet true goals.
It builds strength and character and guides our way.
In writing she has attained all these.
