Okpo People of Nigeria

Every male child is a good cyclist,
Their rugged terrains toughening his wrist;
Some of them my students in the morning!
Not one of them a conceivable cripple,
All on purpose, Unstoppable People;
Their roads after rains remain slippery,
But Riding Philemon wouldn’t be jittery.

Their sons are all briefed about their palaver,
None could cry if one turned a cadaver;
To battle fronts marching without a boot
And still their enemies dropping with cock-and-shoot;
Those behind their burnt houses and deserted ones,
Their buildings with roofs that forfeited them at once;
Where for the first time a teacher ate Snake
And discovered that it was another cake!
7th December 2010:
Right now, he is eyeing another ten!

Premium Member Amid Falling Leaves

worn out tennis scuffle through leaves and trash
going nowhere accept
relocating from the soda machine to the parking lot
this is the intricate routine he follows.
gingerly he sits amid falling leaves
knowing soon the air will cruel and harden his skin
he will find himself on crisp cold mornings looking for a
soup kitchen, anything hot to warm the cruel growl
eating away at his stomach
amid falling leaves he senses the oncoming winter
and holds his body tight
toughening the resolve that must see him through
he will soon commence the employ of begging at
the store
people will give more in winter
it will be close to Thanksgiving
the kindness season was approaching

The Healing

These rough and wrinkled hands hold a gentleness
the smooth hands of youth, carless and untrained, miss.
The knowledge she holds has yet to be transferred,
and her young companion has yet to ripen.

Knowing when to slice open the putrid flesh,
when to cover and protect the tender reborn skin
is a skill hard come by through often lethal mistakes.
A toughening is required that only scaring can cause.

Her eyes can look upon the forest floor,
smelling out the needed balm to sooth,
honing in on subtle scents
that careless youth would overlook.

She trains her student, watching flower grow fruit,
a wisdom of spirit required for the art.

Fighting For Love

We go together like chocolate and nutter, Reeses
though we are from two different worlds, species
Young mixed of us become lil beasties
We slaughter anyone who stands in our way, deceased
and we can just claim they died naturally, diseased
We can be so scary, so feared, that there are no more teases
Then we're finally free to run around like its recess.
We go together like a fox in a hole.
We're tied together by our souls,
knowing our love can never be sold,
two lovers have never been so bold,
onto each other we'll forever hold.
Our love is greater than the price of gold
by your voice I shall always be lulled,
never to feel our hearts grow cold,
instead growing stronger with each annual,
toughening up each passing year.
Haters couldn't tear us apart if they dared
couldn't even find our secret lair,
though they might check here and there,
checkin' up and down the stairs,
up those stairs where we sleep in the bare.
Sleepin' and lovin' in the nude
doin' things one might think was crude,
things between a ***** and her dude,
love between a lady and her man,
cause baby I'm about to rock your world
