Two Of A Kind

O, Mama and Maybelle,
Two of a kind with an important story to tell.

Hailing from the South with so much to say,
You stood on stages, both near and far, delivering your messages with great interplay.

Amidst much darkness, pain, and inequality,
You allowed your light to shine radiantly.

Nothing you did was ever small; everything was beautiful and big.
Big energy, big stages, big lights, and big voices—yah dig?

Soulful melodies erupted from you two like lava from volcanoes.
Every time you took the mic, you left behind rumbling harmonic echoes.

O, Mama and Maybelle,
Two of a kind that did it so well.

Legend of BIG MAMA

From way down in "Bama"
Stirring echoes of Big Mama

A thunderous storm that brewed from the Deep South
Each word could be felt when it left her mouth

With her immense presence, showmanship, and confidence
She would capture the hearts and minds of her audience

She stood tall, shoulder to shoulder amongst the sultans of Blues
She didn't have to pretend or put on 'cause she stood comfortably in her shoes

A woman, a beautiful black woman oozing with creativity and soul
In her kitchen, she took lemons and made pitcher after pitcher of sweet lemonade that she always served cold

Oh, Big Mama you brought that good medicine to the soul when you sang
You bellowed melodies that reached up and tugged on them heartstrangs

Oh, Big Mama I see ya' cookin' with your horn, too
Blowin', just blowin' so beautifully like only a few

You were so good that some felt a need to copy you and steal your money
Shameful shadowy expressions of a "Hound Dog" depraved music industry

Never to be replicated or duplicated
One of one, you were, but still, you're often imitated

From way down in "Bama"
Still goes stirring echoes of Big Mama

World of Grey , By Serena Storm and Jr Thornton

WORLD OF GREY –Collaboration with Serena Storm
"Its cold today,
My world is grey.
I'm Being tortured by the echos
Of the words I don't say

I call out to you
help me get through
The best friend, the one I don't know
Will you be here for me, just for today?"

This frigid weather
From today to forever
Stuck in grey, deserving I am pitiful
Words to support one another

An answer to you
Love will guide us through
My devotion, blind but beautiful
Of course I will be here, if you allow me to.

Lost in thoughts, no desire to control
As far as we've got, i really need to know
What to do, what to say
Is it YOU, or just word play
Someway to know, before I speak out
Are you my twin soul, or am I without

Lost in the wordplay, you are my goal
I want this a lot, I need you to know
I adore you, in every way.
My words are true, sharp as a blade.
Someday to show, dispel your doubt
Our verse feeds me full of your beautiful mouth!

He claimed I was a young rambuncious lad, very sharp:
He knows how to solve a Rubik's Cube and play the harp!
But did Mr. Thornton know
that I used to be a simple so 'n' so?
Family and friends once said,
"That piano is just way over your head!"
Being the dreamer I took it metaphorically
not realizing they were concerned for my safety.
And just as quick as one would drop a hat,
under half a ton of wood, I became all too flat.

Samantha Thornton

I really never could have dreamed or even pictured the day
That the lord would take you from me but he toke you away
I deeply wish he would have toke me but instead he choose you
And now i'm lost out in this world not know what i should do
I lost a special part of me you are my heart and my soul
I seem to feel so incomplete because you made me feel whole
I never thought that at this moment i'd be having to cry
While thinking of you for a minute as i'm watching the sky
I see your face out in the darkness as i'm closing my eye's
And Sam it's hurting at this moment as i'm saying good bye
I hope you're listening to this words because they're not filled with lies
Yea you can see my deep emotion for the tears in my eye's
I never had a broken heart until that day i lost you
And on that very same day i lost a part of me to
Now while i'm still down on this earth i'm still going to do what i do
But keep a seat right beside you because i'm going to meet you there boo...........................
