Lies in a landfill memories represented
With withered flowers that never reached
The recipient hands , the photographs discarded
To behind a stage that is preferred to leave in the past
Or toys of grown up children replaced with technologic gadgets.
Trash can trucks empties garbage and items
Thrown away to close cycles meaning from broke up
Relationships, reaching a more mature age or restart a new life
Mixed with waste, meaningless to trash collectors
That continue their daily labors with the inclement weather.
a sun sent heat growth comes gently
warnings of warmth hardly noticed
not by any act of man but all natural
she prepares metamorphosis in quiet
like poorly dubbed Godzilla films
watching an eight minute delay
with a red shift she swallows those around
bounding great grasshoppers man leaps away
home worlds made for those left alive
searches for second suns are vain
it requires too much for survival
a trip far too distant with ships too slow
our system becomes desolate
as our mother cools down we thin
with hope man may attempt growing grasses
but we are simply planting astroturf
the most unforgiving winter
will freeze remaining humankind
just as she gave us life she takes it back
her layers spread as dissipating smoke
only a gaseous ghost will stand
man is forgotten in the fog
all hope will lie in shots out in the dark
technologic prayers sent out too the deaf
out in the hollows are spacemen
left watering the astroturf
