Tappin Poems | Examples

Premium MemberIn the Sixties

In the sixties I went to university
    where I experienced much diversity

  For example, among fraternities
    mine went from ‘Kegs-a-Tappin’
    to ‘Pills-a-Poppin’
     ~ LSD, we were a-droppin’

Athletics were a big deal too
freshman year we were football champs
senior year, listened to Led Zeppelin’s mega-amps

Then there was good old politickin’
After Kent State life was great
Semester cancelled, May 14 the date…
To let us work for our 'favorite candidate'
Mine wore 6-inch heels, raised my pulse rate…

Oh, I learned a whole lot in school
~ mostly, how to break the rules

Wakin

With a big wide grin
wobbled round my chin
past the mouth, nearly fell in
carried on like a wheelspin
it really was bubblin
no worry or a troublin
no cares to multiply or go doublin
the dimensions I now go travellin
these mysteries I keep unravellin
this universal potential i'm tappin in
the cotton wool skin I find that i'm wrapped in
or as my soul would say trapped in
either way i'm physically strapped in
the human limitations are capped in
as everyday life rushes back in
the clock grinds heavily as time hits full swing
and so does the dreary morning begin!

The Band

There is a band called "Worries" in my head,

every time I close my eyes I can see them playing

the drummer plays the loudest,

one foot Bang Bang BANGing on the bass

one hand rippling the same beat between two snares,

and the other hand annoying the hell out of me

tappin on that triangle bell...

the guitarist standin on my brain,

plucking hard on the strings, literally pulling

got my hair fallin out on me...

this band called "Worries" got me stressin

can’t sleep, because at all times of the night

they be playin so loudly...

got me doubting if ill every dream

can't get no peace with the pianist bangin on those keys..

DUNT DUNT DUNT DUUUUUUH!!!

...and the lead singer aint no help singing

" worries ooo worries wont you please worry me!"

but the worst part of it all is when i realize

that the Lead singer, piano player, the guitarist and drum player

were all ME..!

Oldfoot

When I was young
this was much older
I'm now a bit smarter
then I was bolder

Didn't worry what would happen
or what I was gonna do
my toes they were a tappin
now I just tie my shoe

When I used to walk around
I moved like I was flowin
now if I have to go
I wonder why I goin

If I can make it to 80
will these days look good?
maybe then just maybe
I'll be thankful to have stood

Zombies Happen

Better watch watcha do around the lab.
Dont let your hunch backed assistant play with chemicals.
Get your head out the coffin and your mother and law
off the slab.

For strange brew.
Can re animate old fiends.
And really mess with you.

One two three four.
You blink and from the grave rises more.
Yes your new discovery wont get your fellow mad
scientest clappin.
they just eat my neighbors oh well you reply.
Zombies happen.

They called out the national gaurd seems ive created a mess.
People screaming what shall we do?
well run would be a good guess.

His worm filled mouth is open and i dont think
mr zombie wants a kiss.
people sreaming and running in terror shopping at
walmart has never been like this.

Uncle Walter after only seventy years its wonderful
thoose skeletal toes a tappin.
It's become wide spread so I must say.
My bad ya'll but zombies happen.

Spellbound

Come dance with me my sight full friend.
We'll dress in Kelly green.
Twirl me through yon branches then,
Come help my heart to keen.

I know ye hear the the music lad,
I've seen yer tappin feet.
The notes are high, and so am I,
come swing me to the beat

Let's skip an' dance in wild romance.
Come whirl and twirl a while.
Your secrets safe wi me me lad,
Oh now I see y' smile!

away, awa, we'll dance so far,
y'll swear we've come aboot.
Just have a sip from this wee jar,
Before ye've taken root.

Rhythm & Blues

Rhythm and Blues
Makes you want to move
   to the beat, BEAT
      Tap your FEET
          Move your hips
            Gyrate
         Vibrate
      Dip
   Twirl
You're on top of the world (with muzik)

Rhythm and Blues
You're a muse
   Making things happen
      Just by tappin
         Your FEET
            to the BEAT
Of the Rhythm and Blues
